How to Break Blue and Red Glowing Crystal Rocks in Pragmata

You’ll begin noticing strange, glowing blue crystal formations called Filament Masses early in the game, during the first main level of Pragmata. These can’t be broken with any of Hugh’s weapons, no matter how strong they are. To destroy them, you’ll need to unlock a special ability for Diane called the Lim Eraser by progressing to the second major area.

This tool lets you quickly remove excess filament in the game Pragmata, helping you clear obstructions, discover secret items, and achieve other goals.

Lim Eraser

You’ll unlock the Lim Eraser ability in Pragmata after completing the ‘Mass Production Array’ sector. This involves contacting Earth using the Comms Tower, which requires you to open a large gate by finding six locks scattered throughout the area. During this mission, you’ll eventually reach the fifth section, the Lim Recycling Facility.

As you explore the facility, you’ll find a machine you can use. Activating it will teach Diane the Lim Eraser move, which lets you destroy the blue crystals blocking your path. Simply stand near a crystal and hold the LB/L1/E button to use the move, and don’t worry – you can use it as often as needed!

The Mass Production Array and Solar Power Plant areas are full of glowing blue rocks. It’s a good idea to go back and destroy them – they’re hiding valuable items that will help you upgrade Hugh’s suit, weapons, and modifications.

Cleanse

As you progress in Pragmata, you’ll find glowing red crystals. These are actually remnants of dead organisms and can only be eliminated using a specific power called Cleanse.

Learning this ability for Diana involves progressing through the story, but specifically you’ll unlock it after finishing the “Experimental Pragmatics” area. You’ll reach this area after completing the Lunum Mines section.
