A frustrating bug affecting movement in the popular game Overwatch has been confirmed by a Blizzard developer. They estimate it will take around two weeks to resolve. Because Overwatch relies heavily on player movement and is a competitive game, many players—particularly those striving for higher ranks—are understandably upset by this issue.
Bugs have occasionally popped up in Overwatch, impacting things like the in-game shop or even giving some players an edge in matches. The developers consistently release updates to add new content and fix these issues, aiming for a good experience for everyone. Currently, Overwatch is dealing with a bug that prevents players from jumping.
Overwatch Dev Reveals When the Jump Bug Will Be Fixed
Shortly after the launch of Overwatch Season 2, players began noticing a bug that affects jumping. According to Overwatch Game Director Aaron Keller, the issue occurs when scoreboards are visible. He announced on Twitter that fixing this will require a larger update, expected to arrive in two weeks. In addition to the jumping problem, some players are also experiencing broken keybinds when using universal settings for specific heroes.
Many Overwatch players on Twitter voiced their frustration with a glitch causing unexpected jumps, and how long it’s taking to resolve. Others reported performance problems with Overwatch on the Switch 2, but Aaron Keller confirmed they are already addressing these issues and expect to release a fix within the next few days.
Beyond the usual gameplay bugs, players have been sharing feedback about recent additions to Overwatch Season 2, particularly the new hero, Sierra. Sierra, a damage-dealing recon character launched on April 14th, comes with a companion drone named Dorothy. Many Overwatch players feel Sierra’s ultimate ability, Trailblazer, is too strong. It allows Dorothy to unleash a barrage of 23 bombs, dealing significant damage based on the drone’s height. As of now, the Overwatch team hasn’t responded to these concerns, so it’s unclear if Sierra will be adjusted in a future update.

So, Blizzard is working hard to squash bugs in Overwatch, but they’ve got a ton of cool stuff planned for the Reign of Talon Season 2: Summit! I’m really hyped for the Grand Mesa event, which runs until May 4th, and the Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred crossover dropping on April 28th. They’re also releasing awesome Mythic skins for Soldier: 76 and Genji’s weapon, with even more content coming throughout the next month. It all sounds super exciting and should definitely get people playing. But honestly, if these bugs aren’t fixed, it could really hurt how everyone feels about the season and all the new stuff they’re adding. Fingers crossed they get it sorted!
