Usahana is a brand-new character in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, introduced with the City Town DLC. As you explore City Town, you’ll become friends with Usahana, which will unlock new things to do and fun quests to complete.

What Can You Give Usahana?
Usahana especially loves gifts tagged with Imagination, Mochi, and Rainbow. When you start playing in City Town, the easiest gifts to find are Colorpillars. You can catch these rainbow caterpillars in either of the City Town parks – they appear frequently in both locations, so you can quickly collect a lot of them.
Okay, so getting gifts for Usahana is pretty straightforward! You just need to boost our friendship level with her. Once we hit level 3, she’ll give me a quest called “A Whole New Menu” and I’ll finally get the recipe for Mochi. Then, when our friendship reaches level 6, another quest, “Imagination Cafe,” pops up and I learn how to make Dango. Both Mochi and Dango are actually two-heart gifts, so they’re a big boost to our relationship!
You’ll find lots more recipes as you play, but they’ll only earn you one heart with Usahana. Since some of those recipes use ingredients that are harder to find than Rice Flour, the Mochi and Dango recipes will be the most helpful for building your relationship with her.
Okay, so I’m a huge fan of Usahana, and I just found out how to unlock her special 3-heart gift – it’s Rainbow Dango! You need to become really good friends with her, reaching friendship level 16, before you can even learn the recipe. Then, you’ll have to go searching for Rainbow Beams to actually make it. It sounds like a bit of a quest, but totally worth it for Usahana!
The quest “Rainbow or Bust,” given by Cinnamoroll, will introduce you to Rainbow Beams. When you visit City Town while this quest is active, it will start to rain. During the rain, you’ll be able to find Rainbow Beams appearing throughout City Town.
Once you finish the quest, City Town will experience occasional rain showers. Every day, you’ll also be able to discover several Rainbow Beams around town, regardless of whether it’s raining or not.

Usahana Companion Ability
Usahana has two helpful abilities: Imaginary Chef and Reimagine. Imaginary Chef lets Usahana potentially double the number of items created from cooking stations compared to the player. So, if you make 4 Sweet Apple Boba Teas, Usahana might create 8 more if her ability triggers.
Usahana’s Imaginary Chef skill has three different levels. The table below shows what each level does, how likely it is to succeed, and when you can unlock it.

Usahana has a skill called Reimagine that lets her create a daily reward, like a rare flower or a useful item. To use it, players need to talk to Usahana, choose the Reimagine option, and give her something in return. This skill becomes available once you become good friends with Usahana – specifically when your friendship level reaches 19.
Becoming friends with Usahana offers many benefits beyond just learning new abilities. As your friendship grows, you’ll gain access to new quests, unlock different color options for her avatar, and receive special recipes and items.
