Epic Games Store Users Have Until April 23 to Get Bonus Game Completely Free of Charge

Epic Games Store users can currently get Undead: Rise of the Betrayed King for free! While everyone was looking forward to the next free game on April 23rd, they still have time to download this surprise title, which usually costs $20.

Epic Games gave away the stealth game The Stone of Madness for free yesterday, April 16th, and announced the next free game. On April 23rd, The Stone of Madness will be replaced by Doomblade, a 2D action metroidvania game. It’s quite different from both The Stone of Madness and the currently available bonus game. Before Doomblade becomes free, players who enjoy realistic action RPGs should check out Undead: Rise of the Betrayed King.

What is Undead: Rise of the Betrayed King About?

If you missed it, there’s a free bonus game available! The game’s Epic Games Store page has a good overview of what it’s about. You play as the last of the Golden Dragons, who’s hiding as a human barbarian but is still being hunted. Your mission is to protect a world that fears you from an army of the undead. Built with Unreal Engine 5, the game promises a beautiful and immersive experience, with diverse environments like villages, forests, and spooky crypts to explore.

I’m really excited about the combat in Undead: Rise of the Betrayed King! It sounds like you’ll be able to fight up close with melee weapons, but also use awesome dragon magic – things like freezing enemies with frost spears, blasting them with fire, and creating shockwaves. Plus, you can level up your strength and magical abilities, become skilled with different weapons, and even team up with companions to help you out. It sounds like a really dynamic system!

While Undead: Rise of the Betrayed King has an appealing premise, it’s currently available as an early access title on the Epic Games Store. Right now, here’s all the game includes:

  • The first chapter of the story
  • One mountable animal
  • One companion (and their story)
  • Dungeons
  • A small portion of dragon gameplay
  • The kingdom of Edrikia

This is just a small part of the complete game – it will eventually feature 10 kingdoms and 35 playable companions. The developers are also adding a swimming mechanic for both the player and their mount. Considering the price is likely to go up after the early access period and the game will receive two years of monthly updates with lots of new content, now is a good time to check out Undead: Rise of the Betrayed King.
