As a lifelong Indiana Jones fan, I can hardly contain my excitement for “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle“! Having grown up with the original films and spent countless hours reenacting their adventures, this game feels like a dream come true. The fact that it’s set between “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and “The Last Crusade” is just icing on the cake.
After a long wait, enthusiasts of Indiana Jones will soon have the opportunity to play a top-tier game inspired by the famous franchise. Starting from December 9 (or December 6 for those with early access), players can embark on an adventure in “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle“. One aspect that sets this game apart is its continuity within the film series’ timeline, taking place between the events of “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and “The Last Crusade”.
Other than the Collector’s Version, there are only two versions of “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle” available: the Standard Edition and the Deluxe Edition. As you might anticipate, the Deluxe Edition offers extra features and carries a higher price tag. The crucial point to consider is whether the additional features are worth the increased cost – a topic this guide delves into extensively.
What’s Included in the Premium Edition of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle?
Premium Edition Content
Being a devoted fan, I wasn’t surprised to discover that the Premium Edition encompasses the main game plus extra content. This additional material might be enticing for fellow enthusiasts like myself. However, it’s important to note that this added value comes at a cost – the Premium Edition retails for $99.99 and includes:
- Base Game
- The Order of Giants Story DLC
- Temple of Doom Outfit
- Digital Artbook
Moreover, Premium Edition users will enjoy a head start of three days with the game. Consequently, they can start playing Indiana Jones and the Great Circle from December 6. On the other hand, Standard Edition owners and Game Pass subscribers will get access to the game from December 9.
At present, there’s no set launch date for the DLC yet, but we’ll be providing additional information about it as time goes on.
Pre-Order Bonus
Individuals buying any version of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle prior to November 9 will be granted The Last Crusade Pack as a bonus, which features two aesthetic items designed to elevate Indy’s legendary appearance. These specific items include:
- Traveling Suit Outfit
- Lion Tamer Whip
Both items are inspired by the 1989 Indiana Jones movie, The Last Crusade.
Is the Premium Edition Worth It?
For just $30, the Premium Edition of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle delivers a substantial amount of content. Some fans might find the Digital Artbook, Cosmetic Pack, or three-day early access less enticing, but the compelling reason to upgrade is undeniably The Order of Giants Story DLC.
Initially, the scarcity of data regarding the DLC upon release leaves gamers uncertain about their purchase, potentially making it past the refund period. Luckily, players have the option to upgrade to the Premium Edition at a later date by purchasing the $35 Premium Edition Upgrade once the DLC details are disclosed.
Based on the current situation, it seems that the added expense for the Premium Edition may not offer sufficient value at the moment. Many players might find it more advantageous to continue with the Standard Edition for the time being.
