As a longtime enthusiast of racing games and a dedicated NASCAR fan, I find myself deeply disappointed by the impending delisting of these 10 NASCAR games from digital storefronts. Over the years, I’ve spent countless hours mastering tracks, tweaking my car settings, and competing against friends in virtual races.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve always been fascinated by the world of racing games. While NASCAR titles haven’t quite reached the heights of popularity as juggernauts like Forza, Gran Turismo, or Need for Speed, they’ve managed to carve out a significant niche in this genre. Over the years, more than 60 video games bearing the iconic NASCAR license have been released!
Over the past few years, it’s been 704Games, a division of Motorsport Network, that has taken charge of publishing most NASCAR video games. In 2015, they acquired the license for NASCAR video games and have since produced 8 games using this property. Initially, some of their productions were developed by Monster Games, an American studio. However, with the advent of Motorsport Games, most recent releases are either self-produced by 704Games or its new sister company, Motorsport Games. Regrettably, many NASCAR games published by 704Games will be taken off digital shelves on December 31, 2024, meaning they’ll no longer be accessible for purchase to those who haven’t bought them already.
Several NASCAR Games Are Being Delisted on December 31
On November 29, Motorsport Network unexpectedly declared that they would be withdrawing ten of their NASCAR video games from all online marketplaces by the end of 2024. Motorsport Network didn’t disclose the reasons behind this mass withdrawal, but it’s speculated that contractual obligations with NASCAR might have influenced their decision-making process. The affected titles include:

- NASCAR Heat Ultimate Editio n+

The NASCAR Games Aren’t All Great, But Their Removal From Digital Storefronts is Disappointing
This year, we’re saying goodbye to ten NASCAR video games that haven’t been particularly well-liked by critics. Games like NASCAR Heat 5 and NASCAR Heat Evolution have received moderate praise, but a significant number of these titles have been met with largely negative feedback. For example, the 2021 release, NASCAR 21: Ignition, was heavily criticized for its numerous bugs and glitches, earning it the label of one of the worst NASCAR games ever made. Similarly, NASCAR Heat 2 and NASCAR Heat Evolution received poor reviews as well.
As a devoted racing game enthusiast, I find it disheartening that several Motorsport Networks’ NASCAR games are being taken off the market. While not all of these games may shine in terms of quality, their removal from circulation carries significant weight when considering media preservation. For instance, certain NASCAR racing games are exclusive to PC and will become incredibly hard to obtain once they’re delisted.

For the rest of this month, Motorsport Network plans to lower the costs of its NASCAR video games on multiple platforms. All Motorsport-published NASCAR games on Valve’s PC platform are currently discounted by up to 90%. The Steam sale will end on December 5, so PC players who wish to buy these NASCAR games at budget-friendly rates should act quickly as the offer won’t last forever.
