Wow, after a couple of weeks, Eiichiro Oda is back with Chapter 1180 of One Piece, and it absolutely blew me away! This chapter had some of the most intense action we’ve seen in the Final Saga so far. We all knew Imu was heading to Elbaph, and we were eager to see what he could do. Oda delivered, and then some! He really showed off the scale of Imu’s powers, and honestly, it was incredible. Chapter 1180 not only fleshed out Imu’s abilities, but it cranked the tension in the Elbaph arc way up – seriously, things are looking rough for both the Wings of the Pirate King and the Giant Pirates after this one!
How Imu Unleashed His Wrath On Zoro and Sanji
The moment Nerona Imu arrived in Elbaph, it was obvious he would be the most powerful figure in this part of the story. Considering Imu is likely the final villain of One Piece, or at least one of the last, he’s expected to be incredibly strong – easily the strongest character in the world. Chapter 1180 of One Piece clearly showed this, as he effortlessly battled the Giant Pirates.
Imu unexpectedly and brutally severed Gerd’s fingers, shocking onlookers. The real surprise, however, came when Imu fought Roronoa Zoro of the Straw Hat Pirates. Despite Zoro’s considerable strength, Imu swiftly defeated him. Zoro’s most powerful attacks, enhanced with both Armament and Conqueror’s Haki, were effortlessly blocked by Imu’s tail, indicating Imu didn’t consider Zoro a threat. Imu then finished the fight by using the powers of ‘Omen’ to destroy Zoro with black flames.
Sanji quickly faced the same fate, as Imu effortlessly blocked one of his kicks without seeming to exert any effort. Imu then countered with a devastating kick of his own, once again displaying the incredible power of his black flames. By defeating the Wings of the Pirate King, Oda has established Imu as a truly dominant character, surpassing even previously formidable threats like Kaido and the Five Elders. Oda has skillfully created a highly tense atmosphere in the Elbaph Arc, and it’s clear this tension will continue to escalate as the story progresses.
The Revival Of Saint Sommers And Killingham
A major moment in One Piece chapter 1180 was the unexpected return of the Holy Knights. After suffering significant damage in Elbaph – with Zoro defeating Saint Sommers’ core and Sanji dismantling Killingham – it seemed certain they would be destroyed. However, Imu intervened, easily overpowering Zoro and Sanji. Using the power of Omen, Imu not only revived the Knights but seemingly made them even more powerful than before.
The Holy Knights are already a formidable force, but Imu’s presence in the country has made them even more powerful, as shown in chapter 1180. With Somers and Killingham back in action, the situation is particularly dangerous for Elbaph. They are now facing a fresh attack from the World Government, personally led by the world’s ruler, Nerona Imu.

How Chapter 1180 Sets Up Holy Knights’ Upcoming Fights
Oda’s reintroduction of Sommers and Killingham hints at upcoming battles for Zoro and Sanji during the Elbaph arc. While both are currently sidelined, they’re expected to return to action soon, and when they do, their opponents will be waiting. The story has already established a rivalry between Sanji and Killingham, fueled by a long-held grudge. Likewise, a fight between Zoro and Sommers feels inevitable and promises to be a highlight of the arc for fans.
Eiichiro Oda Sets Up Imu Vs Loki Next
The most significant moment in One Piece Chapter 1180 was likely the meeting between Imu and Loki. It was inevitable these two would encounter each other, and it finally happened at the chapter’s end. Since Imu initially sought out the Holy Knights, it made sense he would eventually go to Gunko as well.
Now, Loki is directly opposing Imu, and he’s a much more formidable opponent than Zoro or Sanji – he won’t go down without a serious fight. Loki is thrilled about the chance to battle the World King, and he’s clearly incredibly strong. Oda hasn’t even shown us the full extent of Loki’s abilities yet, so the next few chapters promise to be full of exciting reveals about his power.
Even though Loki is a powerful character, most fans believe Imu is stronger and will defeat him. Imu is just beginning to demonstrate their power, and is predicted to easily overcome not only Loki, but also Luffy in a fight. Many fans are eagerly anticipating this showdown, and the next few chapters of One Piece, as the story progresses towards the conclusion of the Elbaph arc, are expected to be crucial.
