Initially, the game was set to debut at 2pm EST. However, as the launch time approached and more players than anticipated were eager to play, Grinding Gear Games opted for unexpected database updates to ensure their servers could manage the high number of participants.
The delay comes hours after the developers warned of long queue times for players on launch day.
Following the deployment of the database setup, the team estimated that regaining access to the game would take merely half an hour. Regrettably, this didn’t hold true as another problem surfaced within the game itself.
Initially, an incident occurred that potentially impacted most of our users. This issue was resolved promptly and prepared for deployment prior to final tests. However, just as we announced the release was approaching quickly, another problem surfaced in the game.
They mentioned that there’s been a setup issue and it requires them to reboot the realm. This problem occurred because they added additional database segments just now, aiming to accommodate the overwhelming number of players. However, this addition led to a glitch where several characters ended up sharing the same character ID.
Currently, it’s important to note that both the release date of the early access version and the game’s official website have experienced delays. This is because an influx of players are seeking updates about the game.
