As a seasoned Path of Exile 2 adventurer, I can confidently say that the thrill of discovering loot is second to none! The game’s vast world is teeming with treasures, some immediately useful and others requiring a bit more patience. But remember, just because an item doesn’t sparkle like a rare gemstone right away doesn’t mean it’s not gold in disguise!
In Path of Exile 2, you’ll encounter numerous traditional Action Role-Playing Game features, one of the standout aspects being the abundance of loot you’ll uncover during gameplay. As you generate fresh Instances and traverse new regions, you’ll come across a variety of items, some of which are worth using, while others may not be.
Even if an item isn’t immediately useful, there’s no reason not to collect it. Items of blue rarity and above often have valuable uses later on. Here’s a list of what you can do with excess loot:
What To Do With Extra Loot In Path of Exile 2
With any freshly acquired treasure, your initial action should be to determine its properties by employing a Scroll of Wisdom. Later on, around the midpoint of Act 1, you can utilize “The Hooded One” for a bulk identification of your items after advancing through the main storyline. Once identified, you’ll have a clear view of all its stats to decide if it’s valuable enough to use or not.
If it’s not worth using, return to town whenever you’re not fighting and do any of the following:
Name | Explanation |
---|---|
Disenchant | Each town will have someone who can disenchant magical gear, anything of blue rarity or higher. This will break down that item into a material that can be fused with similar materials to upgrade other gear pieces to be the same rarity as the original gear pieces you disenchanted. Disenchanting destroys the original item. |
Salvage | Gear pieces with a support gem slot can be salvaged at a Salvage Bench creating an Artificer’s Shard which can be fused to make an Artificer’s Orb. Artificer’s Orbs can be put on magical gear to give them a support gem slot. Salvaging destroys the original item. |
Sell | Your last resort can be to sell your gear at any merchant, though this should always be a last resort as it will only give gold. Gold can be used to purchase new gear though found gear is often better and purchased gear is far overpriced. |
If a specific item is exceptionally robust and you want to keep it, you also have the option to store it away for future use or utilization on another character. Remember that your storage, or stash, is exclusive to characters within the same league, so enhancing your Hardcore character with top-tier equipment isn’t an option due to league differences.
