Shopify Rebellion Picks Up Soniqs Roster in Rainbow Six Siege

As a seasoned gamer with decades of Rainbow Six Siege under my belt, I can’t help but feel a twinge of nostalgia as I watch the evolution of teams in this thrilling esport. The disbandment of Soniqs and the subsequent rise of Shopify Rebellion feels like a familiar tale – a phoenix rising from the ashes.

Shopify Rebellion, a fresh newcomer, has made a splash in Rainbow Six Siege as they take over the team previously known as Soniqs.

3 days ago, Seth ‘supr’ Hoffman disclosed that Soniqs no longer planned to support Rainbow Six, and as a result, the entire team was abruptly released. Now, Surf, Ambi, Rexen, Gryxr, and Canadian will compete under Shopify Rebellion moving forward.

New Org, Same Squad

This marks Shopify Rebellion’s debut in Rainbow Six Siege, an unexpected move following the dissolution of Soniqs… Indeed, it was quite surprising. Here’s what supreme (supr) had to share regarding this shift:

Together with my fellow Rainbow Six Siege team members, we are no longer part of Soniqs. After the Montreal Major, I was informed that Soniqs would no longer be investing in Rainbow Six. This decision, I must say, I fully comprehend. However, what truly matters to me is my unwavering passion for Siege and the team I founded six years ago, which I intend to continue dedicating myself to.

Supr also transitioned to Shopify Rebellion and will support the core roster as GM and head coach.

Shopify Rebellion has added a fresh, potent weapon to its arsenal this year. This organization is versatile, spanning across numerous esports genres, including League of Legends, Halo, Rocket League, and VALORANT.

As they head towards the February’s Six Invitational in Boston, Shopify Rebellion will debut their fresh team lineup. This upcoming tournament will serve as a significant trial by fire for the organization.

Lately, there’s been some unfavorable news concerning the Rainbow Six scene, specifically affecting Cloud9 Beastcoast’s roster. M80 took over the Beastcoast brand and dismissed their Major-winning squad, leaving the team without an organization as they prepare for the Six Invitational.
