Murkrow Spotlight Hour Guide For Pokemon GO
On December 10th, 2024, from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. (local time), players will have an opportunity to capture Murkrow as the featured Pokemon of the week. During this special hour, players can also anticipate a double catch XP bonus, meaning they’ll earn twice the usual amount of experience points after catching any Pokemon during that timeframe.
Among players, Murkrow is often a highly preferred Pokémon. In the Pokedex, it holds the number #0198 and hails from Generation 2 of the Johto region. This particular Pokémon belongs to both the Dark and Flying types. Currently, it boasts a Combat Power (CP) of 1,766, and there’s a shimmering version of it that can be captured by keen trainers.
Players can evolve Murkrow into Honchkrow for 100 candies and a Sinnoh Stone, which is a special Item. Catching this Pokemon gives the player three candies and 100 Stardust.
Additional Moves will cost the player 50 candies and 50,000 Stardust.
To ensure players are fully prepared for this Spotlight Hour event, it’s recommended that they gather essential items such as PokeBalls and Berries (if available). Additionally, players should consider clearing or expanding their Pokemon Storage to accommodate the increased catch potential. Having incense at the ready will further enhance their chances of encountering Murkrow during this hour. Keep in mind that a Shiny Murkrow appears as purple instead of its original dark blue form, and having these items on hand could help players catch multiple Murkrows, perhaps even a rare shiny one!
Murkrow Weaknesses & Strengths In Pokemon GO
With Murkrow being a Dark type and Flying type, this Pokemon is weak against:

- Fairy Type (160%)
- Ice Type (160%)
- Rock Type (160%)
However, there is a group of Pokemon that Murkrow takes reduced damage from:
- Dark Type (63%)
- Ghost Type (63%)
- Grass Type (63%)
- Ground Type (39%)
- Psychic Type (39%)
For optimal moveset, Murkrow should utilize Feint Attack (a basic attack) and Drill Peck (a flying charge attack), yielding approximately 9.05 Damage Per Second (DPS) and a Total Damage Output of 64.50. These attacks gain extra power in Foggy or Windy weather conditions, providing a weather bonus.
In the world of Pokémon, it’s advised against using Murkrow for raids, and at this moment, it can neither participate in Dynamax battles nor be encountered as a Dynamax form.
