Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.2 Lets Players Express Themselves

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.2 Lets Players Express Themselves

As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I must admit that I’ve seen games rise and fall, but none have quite captured my heart like Cyberpunk 2077. It’s been a rollercoaster ride, alright – a neon-lit, rain-soaked, cybernetic rollercoaster!

CD Projekt RED unveiled the release of Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.2 today, bringing numerous fresh features into play immediately. This update was crafted alongside Virtuous Games, a studio recognized for teaming up with other developers and focusing on post-release game enhancements.

As a fervent admirer of Cyberpunk 2077, despite the fact that PS5 Pro Support and New Game Plus aren’t currently under development, there are still plenty of exciting prospects on the horizon for us enthusiasts!

At the most recent REDStreams event, the development team shared their current projects: enhancements to the character design tool, fresh auto customization options, new vehicles to discover at the Auto Fixer, and an exciting feature allowing Johnny Silverhand to join you for occasional drives through Night City.

In the upcoming update for the game, there will be a new feature added to the photo mode – an innovative camera mode specifically designed for players to capture stunning in-game images right within the game itself. CD Projekt RED aimed to provide players with an opportunity to produce top-quality in-game pictures without needing external software such as Photoshop. Enhanced camera and lighting settings are included to facilitate this achievement.

In the photo mode, newer aspect ratios can be found, but they’re exclusively accessible on PCs because of some technical constraints.

Cyberpunk Update 2.2 Is About Expressing Yourself

In Update 2.2, CD Projekt RED aimed to weave a unified narrative, making sure every change was deliberate and clear for players. I, as a fan, appreciate this focus on communication, as it allows me to grasp the concepts and intentions behind the fresh features. One significant objective was to amplify the self-expression capabilities of my character, V, in Night City. Now, I can customize V’s appearance, clothing, vehicles, and more, truly embodying the spirit of the Cyberpunk genre.

A practical method could be making the Crystalcoat feature available across all vehicles, empowering users to tailor their cars according to their personal preferences. Additionally, the Twintone option introduces a fresh customization approach, enabling users to scan any car within Night City and apply distinctive colors and patterns they find appealing to their own vehicle.

Yes, this affects gameplay: changing your car’s color will get the police off your tail.

If you’ve been eager to add new rides to your collection that weren’t accessible before, we’re thrilled to announce ten additional cars joining our Auto Fixer garage! Eight of these beauties are already part of the base game, while two have just arrived with the latest update, Phantom Liberty. Some of these vehicles have been much-requested by our community.

In addition to personalizing your vehicles, the character creation feature in Cyberpunk 2077 has received an extensive upgrade. This allows gamers to more effectively embody their characters within Night City. The developers confirmed that they have doubled the number of options and assets available for players to use in the game’s customization toolkit.

It’s Been A Long, Strange Journey for Cyberpunk 2077

The return of Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most impressive stories in gaming. Following a rocky debut, CD Projekt RED rectified the game’s problems, leading up to the release of the 2.0 update and Phantom Liberty expansion. It was evident that this was the game we had been anticipating all along.

For fans yearning for something extra from the Cyberpunk universe, rest assured: CD Projekt RED is diligently developing Project Orion, the upcoming installment in the Cyberpunk saga. Although The Witcher 4 is their primary project at present, there are still 64 team members dedicated to Orion as of October 31st, 2024.

Hopefully, the game will be released when it’s ready this time.
