As a seasoned Cyberpunk 2077 player with countless hours spent in Night City, I must say that Update 2.2 is music to my cybernetic ears! The “Express Yourself” patch brings a whole new level of customization and creativity to the game, from car twintone options and Johnny Silverhand as a passenger, to enhanced photo mode features and an updated character creator.
CD Projekt Red has officially unveiled all the specifics about the Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.2, which goes live today (December 10). Dubbed the “Express Yourself” update, this release expands players’ options in several aspects, including car customization, photo mode, and character creation.
The update is available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
From now on, automobile enthusiasts can enhance a wider variety of cars with an array of colors and styles within the game. A fresh “Twintone” option is introduced, enabling players to replicate any real-world car’s design and color onto their in-game vehicle. To top it off, the character Johnny Silverhand can now join you as a passenger in your virtual ride!
Using Photo mode, developers have incorporated several fresh features for gamers, such as a drone mode that provides extended range and mobility during picture setup, in addition to updated lighting options and the ability to include up to three Non-Player Characters (NPCs) in your photos. After you’ve perfected your shots, you can display them in your personal apartment or share them in a gallery for other players to appreciate.
In the latest update, you’ll find more than 100 fresh options for customizing your game character, along with a feature that generates characters at random. Additionally, there are certain improvements the developers chose not to disclose during the live stream.
The full patch notes are available via the game’s website.
Although gamers might feel slightly disheartened by the absence of PlayStation 5 Pro upgrades and New Game+, the added customization options are expected to infuse some fresh vitality into the game that’s been around for four years.
In Update 2.2, CD Projekt Red hasn’t definitively stated that Cyberpunk 2077 will receive no further updates. Instead, they hinted at potential future surprises. Given their shift of focus towards Project Orion, the upcoming sequel, it seems plausible that the time dedicated to the original game may be nearing its end.
Regarding the upcoming game’s second part, it seems we might not get to play it before the release of The Witcher’s latest project, which goes by the name “Project Polaris.
