It combines the Marvel Comics universe with the hero shooter genre to create an adventure that fans will find hard to forget. However, despite its apparent success, some players are urgently requesting that Marvel Rivalry incorporates a role selection system.

Initially, Marvel Rivals stands apart from most multiplayer games by omitting a role selection queue system. Consequently, players can pick any character they prefer in both Quick Match and Competitive play modes. As of now, there appears to be no sign that NetEase Games plans to alter this strategy. Nevertheless, numerous community members have advocated for its implementation to promote team balance. They’re no longer bound by roles they queued for, allowing them to switch heroes on a whim and experiment with different strategies and team compositions during a match. While this can lead to unpredictable outcomes, it does add an element of excitement as players never know what type of team they will encounter or what their own team composition will be.

Role Queue Could Help Balance Marvel Rivals’ Matches

As a gamer myself, I’ve been pondering about the idea of a role queue system in Marvel Rivals. You see, some players, including me at times, have been avoiding Vanguards and Strategists roles, opting instead for Duelists. The main reason? Well, it’s not just the abundance of hero options in that role, but also because Duelists are essentially the game’s damage dealers, a role that fans seem to adore regardless of the multiplayer game they’re playing.

Implementing a role-based queue system in the game means that players will line up for specific roles like Vanguard, Duelist, or Strategist. Once in a queue, players are committed to their selected role throughout the entire game. The objective is to ensure fairness among teams by placing those who prefer these roles into dedicated queues. This way, all players can compete on an even playing field and games won’t be overpowered by Duelists.

Currently, NetEase Games has not announced if they plan to incorporate a role queue feature. For now, players might need to collaborate to create the optimal team composition. However, since game mechanics can evolve over time, as was the case with Overwatch, there’s always a possibility of changes in the future.
