As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say I’m not entirely surprised by the decision made by the team behind Delta Force. Battle Royale has become quite ubiquitous these days, and while it’s undeniably fun, I appreciate developers who stick to their guns (no pun intended) and focus on what they do best – tactical warfare and operations.
There won’t be a Battle Royale mode coming to Delta Force any time soon.
During a Q&A session on Reddit on Tuesday, Delta Force Game Director Shadow Guo was queried about the potential for certain features. Instantly, though, he dismissed the notion.
“We don’t have such plans for now as our primary focus is on Operations and Warfare,” Guo said..
Instead of referring to a Battle Royale, Guo highlighted the game’s upcoming Black Hawk Down-style campaign mode. In response to another query, Guo discussed the motivation behind the campaign’s atmosphere and theme, explaining that it would deviate from the multiplayer setting. They mentioned that they aimed to pay tribute to past Delta Force Games in its creation.
Guo stated that they are putting a lot of effort into maintaining and growing the Delta Force series. The campaign, which is based in the 90s, is their tribute to the original Delta Force games. Additionally, they aim to introduce something fresh within the Delta Force universe, as indicated by the 2035 timeline in the multiplayer segment.
He added that the development is “coming along nicely” and things are looking good for the Q1 2025 (January) release of the mode.
“Our team will be sharing more details when it’s closer to the campaign’s launch,” he said.
