In collaboration with McDonald’s, Pokémon GO plans to enhance PokeStops and Gyms at fast-food outlets nationwide in the United States. This partnership also includes unique Raid events scheduled for specific dates.

PokeStops and Gyms are often found in popular tourist areas or bustling locations where crowds gather. This makes them frequently appear near fast-food restaurants and bars. Given that these places attract people who usually use their smartphones, it’s convenient to catch some ‘Mons while you’re at it!

Already, numerous McDonald’s locations serve as PokeStops globally, and this number is set to increase further. As announced on the Pokémon Go website, a partnership has been established that will see more PokeStops appearing under the iconic golden arches in the United States.

The Benefits Of The Pokemon Go x McDonald’s Team Up

In certain weeks of 2024 and 2025, individuals visiting a McDonald’s restaurant during the hours of 6pm to 7pm (local time) will encounter more Pokemon lured by Lure Modules, and also join in Five-Star Raids at nearby Gyms.

The dates for these special PokeStop and Gym upgrades are:

  • Monday, December 16, to Sunday, December 22, 2024
  • Monday, January 20, to Sunday, January 26, 2025
  • Monday, February 10, to Sunday, February 16, 2025
  • Monday, March 10, to Sunday, March 16, 2025

During these periods, dropping by PokeStops and Gyms offers an advantage as it provides opportunities for players to connect with one another and collaborate on Raids, which significantly reduces their difficulty level.

In December 2024, there will be Mega Raids involving legendary Pokémon like Mega Latios and Mega Latias, along with Max Battles featuring the Kanto starters. It’s particularly important to have additional assistance during Max Battles since these battles cannot be performed cooperatively.
