As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent in the realm of Marvel Rivals, I must say that Loki, the God of Mischief himself, is one of my all-time favorite characters to play. His unique abilities and versatility make him a formidable force on the battlefield, but like any trickster worth his salt, you need to know when and where to use each of his powers to truly master him.

Loki isn’t just famously known from Marvel Rivals, but also embodies the role of the trickster deity capable of transforming into whatever suits his deceitful schemes against adversaries. This trait is effectively portrayed in the game via his skills, and what’s more, he possesses a healing capacity that makes him quite powerful when it comes to maintaining team survival.

While Loki may pose some difficulty when playing, he is rated as a 4-star character. This is primarily due to the high level of skill required to maximize his deceptive abilities. However, playing him can be exciting and rewarding, as he becomes an effective asset for his team in battles, particularly because his illusions make him extremely hard to defeat. Tips and Tricks for Playing Loki in Marvel Rivals

Marvel Rivals: How to Play Loki

Previously stated, Loki is a character with a four-star difficulty level that may prove tricky to master. This complexity primarily stems from his Doppelganger and Devious Exchange skills, which necessitate a considerable setup period. This setup time can be challenging to manage, especially when you’re on an offensive team or playing on maps with tight deadlines, making it crucial to excel in these abilities.

Discovering Loki’s full potential begins by utilizing his key abilities effectively, such as deciding when to deploy the Regeneration Domain, when to heal using primary fire, and when to deal damage with Backstab or Mystical Missile. Here are some helpful hints to consider while controlling Loki in gameplay:

Focus on Doppelganger Placement

Loki primarily employs a strategy by setting up Doppelgangers and interchanging between them to perplex opponents and swiftly retreat when needed. Alternatively, these doubles can be employed for aggressive maneuvers, allowing for quicker entry into battles without the risk of attempting to pass through a bottleneck or confronting enemies to move closer to your team. It’s often difficult for adversaries to distinguish Loki from his Doppelgangers because they can utilize some of his skills. This ambiguity can lead to an unsuspecting enemy underestimating a Doppelganger, only to be taken aback by a Backstab.

To maximize this skill’s potential, positioning is key. For instance, deploy them on elevated areas or alongside your team to create confusion about which Loki is authentic. This also helps in absorbing some of the damage your frontline is receiving. You could also employ Doppelgangers to swiftly enter a team fight if you’re respawning, or just to make a strategic move and flank the enemy team from behind.

The most important thing to keep in mind is to always have Doppelgangers on the field, as they are what give Loki solid mobility and help with healing and damage.

Learn a Bit About All Heroes

In this scenario, Loki, the Trickster Deity, grants you the power to transform into any character on the battlefield instantly, enabling you to utilize their Ultimate or other special abilities to support your team. While it might seem tempting to transform into a heavy-hitting character like the Punisher for maximum damage, remember that characters with powerful strategic Ultimates, such as Luna Snow, could also prove beneficial for your team’s success.

Given that Loki’s Ultimate is essentially borrowed from another character, it would be wise to spend some time understanding the unique abilities of each hero, particularly their ultimate skills, and how best to utilize them. Jumping into a new character can be quite confusing, potentially leading to the misuse or waste of your own ultimate ability.

Don’t Only Use Deception to Escape

Loki often relies on deceit as his primary means of getting through tough situations and even in interactions. This skill doesn’t just make him elusive, but it also creates a decoy version of himself when activated. Therefore, you can use this ability to confound your attackers or to swiftly position yourself for a surprise attack.

Setting up an illusion can be beneficial during combat, providing you with an opportunity to strategize mid-fight. With your Doppelgangers, you can position them discreetly while being invisible, giving you a moment to assess the area and swiftly move towards your desired location. This tactic is particularly useful for sneaking past enemy lines, causing more damage, catching them off guard, and allowing your team to enter the fray with greater ease.

Position Regeneration Domain Correctly

Loki is a character who can be quickly defeated if one isn’t cautious, making it crucial to focus on strategic positioning. Avoid diving headfirst into battles before your team has engaged, and always prepare Doppelgangers for use in advance to boost both your and your team’s chances of survival.

Using the Regeneration Domain is especially crucial, as it excels in revitalizing your squad and shielding you against high-damage characters such as Iron Fist. In essence, Regeneration Domain can nullify their offensive setup, making it harder for them to escape, essentially trapping them for your team to eliminate. It also has the ability to halt damage from certain Ultimate abilities, which places it among the most potent assets for Strategists, ensuring your team’s survival.

The challenge with this crystal power lies in its vulnerability to being shattered by adversaries, and the fact that it requires a considerable period to recharge once depleted, typically around five seconds. However, during this time, it can significantly boost your team’s survivability. It’s crucial not to overuse it as you might need it in critical situations. Also, the protection area isn’t particularly expansive and may fail to protect your entire team in the fast-moving environment of Marvel Rivals, so ensure that you stay close to your teammates.
