Loved Arcane And Don't Know What To Watch Next? Castlevania Is Right There

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for top-notch animation and a heart full of nostalgia, I can’t help but feel a pang of sadness when concludes its enchanting tale. But fear not, dear fellow animation enthusiasts! If you’re yearning for more dramatic, action-packed narratives with characters that leap off the screen, let me remind you of a gem hidden in plain sight: Netflix’s .

Undeniably, “Arcane” is widely acclaimed as one of the greatest animated series in history. It boasts an impressive perfect score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. The timeless tale of Jinx and Vi will be remembered for generations.

It’s sadly concluded, and if there are spin-offs in the pipeline, it might take years for them to premiere. For those who adore animation and seek a captivating narrative filled with depth, well-developed characters, and high-quality action, what can they do now?

I feel like now is a good time to remind everyone that Netflix’s Castlevania series exists.

Castlevania: the original next-best-thing in animation

Prior to the release of “Arcane” in 2021, “Castlevania” stood as the premier original animated series on Netflix. It made its debut in 2017 with a first episode that was daring, poetic, and chilling in its portrayal of horror. Powerhouse Animation skillfully transformed Warren Ellis’s haunting vision into something magnificent.

For four thrilling seasons, two episodes garnered a perfect score from Rotten Tomatoes, with even the finale earning this honor. Concluding in such an impressive manner, Castlevania appeared primed for legendary recognition. This was back in May of 2021.

Just a few short months after, in November, the highly anticipated “Arcane” was unveiled. The League of Legends adaptation quickly took center stage, overshadowing “Castlevania” not merely from the limelight but completely eclipsing it.

What’s a show gotta do?

Back in 2023, when Netflix unveiled the sequel series of Castlevania titled Nocturne, I was anticipating a triumphant reception. Critics’ reviews were as outstanding as ever, boasting a remarkable 96%. However, the atmosphere felt distinctly off. The buzz on social media was lukewarm at best, bordering on hostility. The original series had garnered an impressive 85,000 ratings on IMDb. In stark contrast, Nocturne managed to gather only 16,000 ratings.

As a gamer, I’ve got to admit, it’s not exactly fair to compare one season with four. But let me tell you, back in October of 2024, the director of Nocturne, Samuel Deats, dropped a bombshell! He announced something that had us all excited!

For those curious about it, since Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2 has been largely completed, we’ll be taking a break until its release and learning whether or not we’ll receive another season.

As a fellow enthusiast, I can’t help but express my excitement for the upcoming season 2 of our beloved Castlevania series. Let’s rally together and show our unwavering support when it drops, ensuring we get more high-quality shows like this in the future!

As a passionate fan, it’s disconcerting to find myself rallying fellow supporters for a celebrated, award-winning, cherished series. I’d anticipate that Netflix, with its vast resources, would wholeheartedly support such a proven success. Instead, it seems our talents are uniting to safeguard the future of this beloved show.

Now is the perfect time to start Castlevania

Should Castlevania indeed be its final chapter, it will become another title added to Netflix’s list of shows that were terminated prematurely. This list includes beloved series such as Glow, The OA, and American Vandal, as well as critically acclaimed projects like Mindhunter and Santa Clarita Diet.

Great news! The second season of “Nocturne” will be available starting January 16th, 2025. A fresh new trailer has been released on YouTube. If you’re a fan of “Arcane” and haven’t yet explored the world of “Castlevania”, now is the ideal moment to dive into the entire series.

It’s right there on Netflix, ready and waiting. Go ahead, sink your teeth in.
