As a nostalgic gamer who grew up with the social network Facebook and its array of experimental games, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement at the revival of Miscrits. This game, with its cult following, has managed to capture the hearts of many, myself included. The fact that this project is being spearheaded by none other than Robert Nelson, the original creator, and a dedicated community on Discord, adds an extra layer of authenticity and anticipation.
In the past, Facebook was a hub for trying out various social games, particularly smaller, experimental ones. One such game, called Miscrits and popular among certain circles, is being brought back to life by a passionate group on Discord. The project has even progressed to closed alpha testing. What’s intriguing is that the initiative has the backing of Robert Nelson, the original creator of Miscrits.
Game Rant had a brief conversation with members of the community supporting the Miscrits revival, including project lead GK. They gave a quick glimpse inside the community that supports the current alpha test of the Miscrits revival.
Bringing Back Classic Miscrits
Q: Can you introduce yourself?
Hi there! I’m not the real GK, but I’m working alongside Minato on a revamped version of Miscrits. This time around, we’re aiming to enhance and optimize it significantly. We’ll also be incorporating more elements that resemble the original Miscrits in subtle ways.
Q: What makes Miscrits so special to you?
In my younger years, I was deeply fond of the game called Miscrits. My elder brother introduced it to me and we enjoyed playing it together. However, one fateful day, I found myself unable to access my cherished game. Since then, I’ve been eager to attempt reviving Miscrits. I firmly believe that this game is exceptional, having been meticulously crafted. The graphics in these locations are stunningly beautiful. There are numerous captivating animations. I haven’t encountered a cooler game since Miscrits was shut down.
Q: How long have you been working on the revival?
Me: It’s been approximately 10 months since we brought back the current iteration of the game. Prior to that, I also developed an offline version. Our main objective as a team is to significantly enhance the game by implementing various crucial improvements. The major challenge lies in the time commitment required to breathe new life into this project.
Q: How does Miscrits compare to other creature collectors?
GK:Miscrits stands out among similar games due to its vast array of settings and characters. This presents a considerable challenge for artists, as each Miscrit is intricate to draw. Following the integration of the initial content, we can expect further developments in the storyline, new locations, and more Miscrits. There’s plenty to be accomplished before the updated version launches, but it promises to significantly improve the experience!
Q: Anything you’d like to add?
Let me emphasize that Miscrits is not just any ordinary game; it holds a legendary status. Ever since its inception on Facebook, it has demanded considerable effort and resources from its creators.
