Best Team Comps With Hela
As a seasoned gamer who’s spent countless hours battling it out in Marvel Rivals, I can confidently say that Hela is a force to be reckoned with! Her unique playstyle, combined with her powerful abilities, makes her a formidable opponent on the battlefield.
In the game “Marvel Rivals”, Hela serves as a long-range Duelist hero, capable of tipping the scales in tight, intense battles.
She might not possess the rapid-fire capability of The Punisher or the single-shot power of Hawkeye, yet she’s indisputably one of the top heroes in the game. Her consistent damage output, pinpoint accuracy, and destructive ultimate ability make her a formidable opponent on the battlefield, worthy of respect.
In our “Marvel Rivals” guide, we’ll detail Hela’s powers, provide useful strategies, and assist you in ruling the battlefield with ease.
Hela Abilities
At a glance, Hela may appear modest, considering her previous reputation during the beta phase. Yet, following some adjustments for balance and a seasonal boost to her damage output, she has proven herself to be among the top-tier Duelists in the game.
In the game Marvel Rivals, Hela’s challenge level is set at three out of five stars, which means she isn’t overly simple for novice players yet doesn’t require advanced skills either. Mastering Hela requires precision in shooting, patience, and a solid team to support you.
Let’s run down her abilities:
Ability | Description |
---|---|
Nightsword Thorn | Normal Attack. Deals 70 damage, with falloff starting at 18 meters, decreasing to 70% at 30 meters. Fire rate is 2 rounds per second, holds 8 ammo. |

Soul Drainer | Project an explosive Hel sphere to Stun nearby enemies. Projectile moves at a speed of 40 meters a second. The stun duration is 0.3 seconds in a 3-meter spherical radius. Cooldown: 12 seconds. |
Piercing Night | Fire multiple Nightsword thorns that detonate after a delay. Projectile moves at a speed of 80 meters a second, dealing 10 projectile damage and 30 spell field damage power round. Cooldown: 8 seconds. |

Queen of Hel | Team-Up ability. When Hela lands a final hit in defeating an enemy, she can instantly resurrect Loki and Thor in the respawn phase, or grant them Bonus Health if they are still alive. Team-Up Bonus is a 20% damage boost. |
Hela Offensive Strategies
Unlike other ranged Duelists who thrive from a distance, Hela leverages her Astral Flock ability to get right in the action, providing her with a superb method for evading tight situations.
Mastering Hela effectively involves maintaining optimal positions consistently. Although this may seem straightforward, it’s more challenging in practice. Understanding and respecting the boundaries of your character is crucial to achieving this ideal positioning.
- Soul Drainer is an excellent opener to stun enemies and set them up for a quick succession of your normal attacks.
- Keep the momentum with Nastrond Crowstorm and keep the pressure on enemies to do persistent damage.
- Astral Flock isn’t just for getting out of harm’s way. Use it to access advantageous vantage points or for setting up your ultimate.
Hela Defensive Strategies
Here, the skill of understanding positioning proves valuable. It’s not necessary to be a spirit, but ensuring that you won’t fall victim to an attack is crucial when playing as Hela.
- Astral Flock makes you invincible; use this to your advantage.
- You’re not a sniper, so don’t play like one. You actively want to use your Soul Drainer to stun enemies and set up sustained damage.
- Stay by your healers. You’re best when you can combo your stun into damage and keep the momentum rolling, so don’t outkick the coverage here.
- I know it can be tempting to start the party, but let the Vanguards initiate combat.
Hela Team-Up Abilities
Team-Up | Heroes Needed | Description |
---|---|---|
Queen of Hel |
Thor, Loki | Team-Up ability. When Hela lands a final hit in defeating an enemy, she can instantly resurrect Loki and Thor in the respawn phase, or grant them Bonus Health if they are still alive. Also gives a 20% passive damage boost. |
In simpler terms, when Hela defeats an opponent, she has the ability to bring back Loki or Thor from the dead. If either of them are still alive, they receive additional health instead.
Oh, and you get some extra damage, which is super nice.
Hela Counters & How to Deal with Them
As a Duelist, Hela isn’t particularly tough and it’s more effective for her to engage from a moderate distance rather than the rear lines. She doesn’t hold up well against sharpshooters like Hawkeye or Black Widow, but she can certainly handle The Punisher.
Divers similar to the characters Black Panther, Spider-Man, and Iron Fist will likely give you a tough fight if you find yourself in a vulnerable situation without backup.
Star-Lord can be an excellent counter, too, given his speed.
Best Team Comps With Hela
It’s best to have either Thor or Loki on your team since they can activate your Team-Up skill. Considering their current status in the game, I always opt for Loki. No apologies needed; I simply don’t favor Thor.
Additionally, for maintaining your health, you might find it beneficial to consider powerful healing characters such as Luna Storm and Cloak & Dagger.
In simpler terms, the latter one (Mantis healer) can both heal a large area and deal damage, which makes it easier to defeat opponents. I’d always be happy to have a Mantis healer as part of my team.
Discussing inflicting damage, having a powerful ally such as a Duelist by your side is an effective method to activate your Team-Up skill. Characters like Winter Soldier, Black Panther, Hawkeye, Psylocke, and The Punisher are all fantastic choices for this role.
I’d always welcome Venom as a teammate, and for the role of a Vanguard, both Magneto and Doctor Strange have the ability to hinder enemies and deal damage simultaneously, making it easier for us to finish them off.
