Green Hell VR Co-Op Mode is now on PSVR2 and Meta Quest

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can confidently say that the arrival of co-op mode for Green Hell VR is a game-changer! I’ve braved many virtual jungles alone, and let me tell you, having a team to back me up in this unforgiving Amazonian wilderness is a survival tactic I wish I had earlier. The cooperative gameplay adds an exciting layer of camaraderie to the tense moments of discovery and survival that the game offers.

Incupo, the developer behind it, has officially revealed that the much anticipated cooperative play feature for the virtual reality (VR) edition of Green Hell has been released. This update is now accessible on PlayStation VR 2 and Meta Quest platforms.

“The team announced that the cooperative update is now accessible for 2 to 4 players. If you own Green Hell VR, this update is free for you. Whether you’ve navigated the jungle solo before or are embarking on your first adventure, the new co-op mode provides a thrilling opportunity to share tense moments of exploration and survival. Players must collaborate to conquer each obstacle together.

Green Hell VR immerses players in a scorching battle for existence within the merciless Amazonian wilderness. Players must fight for their lives as they embark on a perilous expedition brimming with hazards to both body and psyche. The cooperative version amplifies the game’s tough single-player mode by enabling teams of up to four individuals to support one another, enhancing their chances of survival.

Teammates will equip themselves with either close-combat or distant weapons for the purpose of procuring food or shielding one another from the jungle’s dangerous creatures. If a player requires healing, they will signal distress in a noticeable manner, also alerting others to the presence of leeches that need to be removed from each other. Despite building shelters remaining difficult, having friends by your side to collect supplies and collaborate on construction projects makes the task somewhat more bearable.

In our initial Virtual Reality review, we praised Green Hell VR as a convincing and capable entry in the survival simulation genre. The jungle setting is both dense and menacing, and the overall atmosphere is authentic and immersive. Moments like spotting birds flying overhead or watching fish swim away as you cross a river add a touch of beauty to the otherwise tense daily struggle for survival. None of these elements feel like unnecessary additions; instead, they enhance the experience of exploring the unknown. While it does require some adjustment, Green Hell VR: Quest Edition offers an engaging and thrilling adventure that may be less punishing than the original game, but is no less captivating.
