Steam 2024 Year In Review Is Live

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for virtual realms and the occasional World of Warcraft binge, I must admit that the Steam Year in Review for 2024 has left me feeling like a lone wolf among shepherds. The vibrant landscape of my gaming life, adorned with the pixelated hues of Azeroth, seems to stand starkly against the bustling metropolis of Steam’s gaming universe.

In the spirit of everyone else’s enjoyment, Valve chose to participate too: The Steam Year in Review 2024 is now accessible.

After Steam reveals its annual Awards prior to the onset of the Winter Sale, players can discover which games they’ve been enjoying on Steam throughout the past year. If you’re like me, who’s predominantly played games not distributed by Valve, you might find it quite sparse. I must confess, my obsession with World of Warcraft is hard to resist.

Similar to annual summaries for Nintendo and PlayStation in 2024, the Steam version compiles data from your account to provide a recap of your year’s activities. You can compare your statistics with the most popular games among typical Steam users, taking into account factors such as playtime, achievements earned, and more.

Steam Deck owners can also compare their stats between playing on desktop and Steam Deck.

What the Steam 2024 Year In Review Reveals About Your Gaming

2024 Steam Year-End Review highlights the count of games you’ve played throughout the year, badges earned by accomplishing specific tasks (achievements), and any unbroken sequences where you played the same game for consecutive days.

Furthermore, it explains how your activity compares with other Steam users. For instance, even though I’ve played just eight games on Steam, my usage is twice as high as the average user!

If you’re seeking additional information, Steam offers a personalized heat map showing your most frequently played game genres, which could even encompass virtual pinball games, provided they exist. Furthermore, it allows you to compare the number of recent releases versus classic games you’ve engaged with.

It’s quite astonishing that in a recent development, about one out of every six Steam users are engaging with games released this year, suggesting either a focus on clearing their backlogs or a strong affinity for revisiting titles like the latest Baldur’s Gate 3, much like my wife.

If you weren’t satisfied with your Steam 2024 year in review, the upcoming Winter Sale provides a great opportunity for gamers to purchase popular games at reduced prices. This sale aligns with the initial voting day for this year’s Steam Awards, featuring top contenders like “Helldivers II”, “Black Myth: Wukong”, “Balatro”, and “STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl”.
