As a gamer who’s journeyed through Tamriel countless times, the prospect of returning to Cyrodiil with a modern overhaul is nothing short of exhilarating! The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion was my gateway drug into the vast world of open-world RPGs, and if the rumors are true, I’ll be able to immerse myself in its rich lore once more.
The long-anticipated remake of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion could be revealed next month.
Based on information from source Extas1s, not only is there a strong possibility that The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion remake is underway, but it might be unveiled during an Xbox Direct event in January. Moreover, if the rumors hold true, the game may potentially hit shelves as early as 2025.
Based on earlier whispers, it’s speculated that the project is under development by Virtuos and constructed using Unreal Engine 5. These whispers also suggested a potential launch of the game in the year 2025.
In case you might remember, the initial mention of a reboot or enhancement of the game surfaced during the Federal Trade Commission’s inquiry into Microsoft’s purchase of Activision Blizzard. At that point, the papers suggested the game would be released within the fiscal year 2022, but as we all know, that didn’t happen. Since then, neither Microsoft nor Bethesda have made any official comments about its current status.
