As a long-time Xbox gamer with a soft spot for Star Wars and a wallet that often groans at the sight of new game purchases, this news has me jumping for joy! The free offering of Star Wars Battlefront 2: Celebration Edition on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is like a gift from the galaxy far, far away itself. With my past experiences with Star Wars games and the Xbox platform, I can confidently say that this addition to my library will bring countless hours of intergalactic combat and immersion into the Star Wars universe.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate users have a limited-time opportunity to grab a complimentary version of the Star Wars Battlefront 2: Celebration Edition, courtesy of EA Play’s holiday festivities. This latest Electronic Arts title, known as Star Wars Battlefront 2, is being given away during December, but the offer ends on December 20. So, enthusiasts who want to own this 2017 release should hurry up and take advantage of it before the deadline passes.
Previously inactive for several years, Electronic Arts (EA) revived the Star Wars Battlefront series in 2015, with a sequel following suit in 2017. Both games initially received varied opinions upon release; however, Star Wars: Battlefront 2 has garnered a “very positive” rating on Steam based on more than 50,000 user reviews. On the downside, Aspyr’s newly launched Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection has received unfavorable feedback on Steam due to its elevated price point, limited servers at launch, and numerous bugs.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 Free On Xbox Game Pass For A Limited Time
If you’re an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or EA Play member like me, Celebration Edition has been given away, as Epic Games users had a chance to grab it for free last year. But now, Xbox fans like us can join in on the fun and enjoy this popular sequel at no extra cost!
The upcoming free distribution of Star Wars Battlefront 2: Celebration Edition follows closely on the heels of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate’s free offering of another popular EA game, Battlefield 1 Revolution, which was initially released in 2017. Regrettably, this offer is no longer available for claiming at no cost, as Electronic Arts (EA) rotates a variety of games and DLC for giveaways during the holiday season. In a blog post earlier this week, EA disclosed that they will be providing numerous digital presents from December 17 to December 26. While not all the titles and DLC being gifted were specified, the studio did mention Battlefield 1: Revolution, The Sims 4 Home Chef Hustle Stuff Pack, Titanfall 2: Ultimate Edition, and 500 PGA Tour Points in EA Sports PGA Tour.
Xbox Game Pass has experienced a significant surge in the past few months, with the additions of “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6”, “STALKER 2”, “Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024”, and “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle” all being made available on their launch day. Members of the premium tier, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, should stay alert as more EA games and DLCs will be given away for free until December 26th.
