As a long-time fan of One Piece, I must say that the Elbaf arc has been one of my favorites so far! Coming from someone who has been with the series since its early days, I can truly appreciate the depth and richness that this arc brings to the world of One Piece.
This article contains spoilers from One Piece’s Elbaf Arc
Summary
- Elbaf Arc full of discovery and reunions
- Elbaf should avoid becoming too long
- Transition arc for Straw Hats’ final battle prep
As the Elbaf Arc unfolds in the world of One Piece, fans are buzzing with anticipation, eagerly awaiting the revelations that this significant island holds. With enigmas like Shanks’ ties to Elbaf and Prince Loki’s role on the island still shrouded in mystery, the Elbaf Arc promises to be a pivotal moment in One Piece’s rich history. Given the wealth of secrets waiting to be uncovered, it’s plausible that the Elbaf Arc could grow into one of the most impactful arcs in the series thus far. However, it remains questionable whether this could be the best path for the story’s progression.
To date, the post-time skip arcs in One Piece have gained a reputation for running too long. For instance, the Wano and Dressrosa arcs exceeded 100 chapters, while Whole Cake Island is approaching triple digits. Consequently, it might be more appealing to keep any future adventures on Elbaf brief and engaging rather than extending them into another lengthy arc, regardless of how captivating the tale may seem.
Elbaf Is A Great Change Of Pace In One Piece
So Far Elbaf Is An Arc Full Of Discovery And Reunions
Whole Cake Island Length | 78 Chapters |
Dressrosa Length | 102 Chapters |
Wano Length | 149 Chapters |
For those unaware, we’re deep into the final chapter of the epic saga known as “One Piece.” Following the events on Egghead Island, the Straw Hat Pirates embark on a new journey to the land of giants, Elbaf. This island has been hinted at since the Little Garden Arc and is eagerly awaited by many fans of “One Piece.
We’re off to the land of dreams, Elbaf! – Usopp
Upon reaching Elbaf, the team encountered various unexpected events: They were abducted by the colossal figure, Road, crossed paths with the malevolent Prince Loki, and ultimately unearthed the majestic Kingdom of Elbaf in all its splendor. To add to these remarkable experiences, Robin had a heartwarming reunion with her long-lost childhood friend, Jaguar D. Saul, whom she believed was lost on Ohara Island years ago. The island of Elbaf has proven to be an unforgettable experience for enthusiasts of One Piece.
One Piece’s Elbaf Should Avoid Becoming Too Long
Too Many Chapters May Make A Great Arc Too Bloated
- 40 Chapters May Be The Perfect Length
- The Arc Should Focus On Exploration And Revealing History
While it’s true that the arc itself could be impressive, it doesn’t necessarily have to span a considerable length. For instance, Egghead Island was a 63-chapter arc, but not every arc needs to rival the epic length of Wano. In fact, keeping Elbaf at approximately 40 chapters might strike the perfect balance. Despite some enthusiasts hoping for a longer storyline, this shorter length could be more suitable.
Firstly, Elbaf might offer a refreshing shift from the Egghead Island Arc’s intensity, providing an opportunity to delve into the island of giants’ mysteries rather than persistently confronting high-level threats. This arc could primarily focus on investigation and discovery, such as unraveling the secrets behind the recovered Ohara Library, understanding Shank’s ties, or mending the rift between humans and giants due to Big Mom’s actions. Such challenges may be addressed without the necessity of a significant antagonist or constant threat.
Elbaf Could Be A Perfect Transition Arc
The Straw Hats Could Train And Prepare For Their Final Battle On Elbaf
Furthermore, the Elbaf Arc in One Piece might delve into preparing the Straw Hat Pirates for the Final Saga. Several characters, notably Usopp, could acquire new skills to provide a final surge of power before they confront the ultimate challenges of the series. Moreover, Luffy may uncover a secret that enables him to fully realize the potential of his Devil Fruit and Gear 5.
Most fail to find words to adequately describe its immense grandeur. – Louis Arnote
If the Elbaf Arc in One Piece primarily concentrates on these two themes without centering entirely around a major fight against an adversary, it wouldn’t need to be excessively prolonged. The captivating aspect of Elbaf lies in uncovering the island and the culture of the giants, rather than any potential battle that might occur there. Prolonging the story with a lengthy battle on the island would detract from the rich world-building that Oda carefully constructed to introduce the island initially.
As of now, it’s unclear exactly how Oda intends to develop the Elbaf Arc within One Piece. Whether this arc will span many volumes or conclude quickly remains uncertain. However, one thing is certain: the Elbaf Arc in One Piece promises to be a thrilling journey for fans regardless of its length.
