Summary

  • Marvel Rivals shines with unique maps and diverse character roster for fans.
  • Different maps cater to specific abilities and playstyles of heroes like Psylocke, Iron Man, Hela.
  • Each map has a standout duelist, making strategic hero selection crucial for victory.

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent mastering the art of virtual combat across multiple realms, I must say that these character recommendations for various maps in Marvel Rivals truly resonate with my battle-hardened instincts.

The Marvel Rivals game maintains its rising fame, solidifying itself as a hero shooting game with staying power. It offers everything that enthusiasts of this genre desire: impressive landscapes, rapid and engaging gameplay, and above all, an exceptional selection of characters.

With 18 initial contestants (with more joining in upcoming versions), the game provides numerous opportunities for those aiming to take on the Damage Per Second (DPS) role. Each character boasts a unique skill set, which can make it challenging to establish a clear hierarchy. Yet, the game’s carefully designed battlefields sometimes favor specific characters, with certain individuals consistently outperforming on each map, making them popular choices for sealing the win.

8. Tokyo 2099: Shin-Shibuya – Psylocke

Take Advantage Of The High Ground

This map focuses on controlling the higher terrain. Its numerous elevated spots and strategic bottlenecks frequently cause opponents to bunch up, exposing their weak points for strikes from behind.

Choosing Psylocke for the map is a smart move due to her unique abilities. With Psychic Stealth and Psi-Blade Dash, she can swiftly reach elevated positions, making long-range attacks with her Shurikens and Crossbow a breeze. In case of a close encounter, her trusty Psionic Katana ensures she can handle any adversary efficiently.

7. Tokyo 2099: Spider Islands – Iron Man

Fly Around And Rain Fire From Above

For fans of duelists focused on Area of Effect (AoE) damage, Spider Islands is a long-awaited reality. This map features numerous constricted sections, leading to many chokepoints. However, what truly distinguishes this map is its top-down open layout, making it perfect for heroes capable of flying or soaring through the air.

Here’s where our hero, Iron Man, steps into the picture. He boasts an incredible ability to fly continuously for extended periods, and his arsenal is nothing short of impressive. Particularly noteworthy are his Micro-Missile Barrage and Invincible Pulse Cannon, which unleash awe-inspiring area of effect (AoE) attacks. This battlefield suits Iron Man perfectly, allowing him to zip through narrow passages, launch assaults from above, and consistently dish out substantial damage.

6. Yggsard: Yggdrasil Path – Hel

The Perfect Map To Utilize Hela’s Projectile Damage

The Yggdrasil Path is designed specifically for skilled duelists who specialize in dealing projectile damage. This map has several narrow passages but primarily offers expansive, open areas that provide clear sightlines ideal for snipers. However, being a convoy map means players often gather together, making them vulnerable to area-of-effect ultimate abilities.

This is the reason Hela stands out on this map. Her ability to repeatedly strike with projectiles is facilitated by the open design and clear visibility. Furthermore, with her ultimate, “Goddess of Death,” she can execute squad wipes, thereby gaining dominance over the convoy.

5. Klyntar: Symbiotic Surface – Winter Soldier

A Well-Rounded Hero For A Balanced Map

In the game Marvel Rivals, Symbiotic Surface is widely regarded as the most evenly designed map. This layout offers an ideal playground for both long-range marksmen and up-close fighters. It boasts open areas where snipers can take aim from a distance, yet it’s also rich with walls, crates, and other barriers that melee combatants can use to close in on their opponents.

The flexibility of Winter Soldier makes him the standout pick for this map. His equipment is finely tuned, providing both pinpoint accurate ranged attacks and powerful melee options. He excels even more when teamed up with Rocket Raccoon, as their combined ability gives him unlimited ammo and a faster firing rate. To cap it all, his ultimate is remarkable, almost ensuring a squad wipe with the right timing.

4. Yggsard: Royal Palace – Hawkeye/Star-Lord/Iron Fist

Can’t Stick With One Duelist In The Royal Palace

As a cinephile, I find myself in awe when exploring the grandiose Royal Palace map – a Domination stage that’s split into three distinct scenes, each offering a unique cinematic experience for the duelists who grace it. Each area showcases an exclusive layout, providing favorable conditions for different combatants to shine and make the most of its tailor-made design. It’s not about crowning one best duelist; instead, it’s about understanding the nuances of each scene and mastering them to deliver a memorable performance on the Royal Palace stage.

In the Bifrost Garden, Hawkeye stands out as an ideal character for players to select first. This map has a largely open layout, which benefits characters with flying capabilities. Conversely, it transforms into a perfect sniper’s domain due to unobstructed sightlines. Given these factors, Hawkeye emerges as the obvious choice, excelling as the game’s top long-range combatant.

As a fan, I’d say this: The Throne Room might be quite snug, but it’s got some raised spots that make it perfect for Star-Lord! He can capitalize on the high ground to dish out damage from afar, and when needed, he can swoop down to rain his Blaster Barrage upon huddled enemies. To top it off, with his ultimate ability, he can float above the fray and obliterate the entire opposition!

In summary, Odin’s Archive primarily focuses on strategic map control. Given its narrow passageways, Iron Fist excels significantly. Once players secure map control, Iron Fist can effectively ward off enemies using his powerful melee attacks and swift mobility. Nevertheless, a robust support is essential for Iron Fist to survive and continue dominating the area.

3. Intergalactic Empire Of Wakanda: Hall of Djalia – Spider-Man

A Perfect Playground For Spider-Man

The Hall of Djalia values nimbleness and swiftness. In order to keep command, both offensive and defensive squads require quick-moving players who can quickly reach the objective zone. With numerous routes leading to the goal, there are plenty of battle spots. A map like this suits Spider-Man exceptionally well. He can navigate in and out of the objective area using his web-swinging ability, providing him a substantial mobility edge over his adversaries.

In addition, because the Mission area boasts an expansive sky, players can capitalize on Spider-Man’s web-swinging skills for defense, making it challenging for opponents to strike him at all. However, it’s important to note that Spider-Man comes with a steep learning curve; once mastered, though, he can become a formidable force on this map.

2. Hell’s Heaven: Hydra Charteris Base – Black Panther

The Intergalactic King’s Best Map

On the Hydra Charteris Base map, it’s widely agreed that Black Panther outshines most duelists. This battlefield is divided into three key areas: Eldritch Monument, Super Soldier Factory, and Frozen Airfield. The first two zones are confined and offer limited visibility, which suits a close-quarters fighter like Black Panther perfectly. His skills allow him to quickly close the distance and effortlessly take down foes, establishing his supremacy in these constricted areas.

In my perspective, the Frozen Airfield area stands apart from the other two sectors due to its openness, yet it remains sufficiently confined for the Black Panther to assert his dominance. Combining him with a skilled marksman such as Hawkeye or Iron Man becomes an exceptionally sound strategy, as this alliance allows our team to effectively counter both close-combat and distant adversaries.

1. Intergalactic Empire Of Wakanda: Birnin T’Challa – The Punisher/Moon Knight

The Deadliest Duelist Pair

On the Domination map of Birnin T’Challa, there are three distinct sections. The first, known as the Science Institute, is rather straightforward. It’s a spacious, airy room with a high ceiling and few obstacles to maneuver around. This open layout makes it ideal for characters like The Punisher. His special ability, the Vantage Connection (or zipline), can traverse the entire map, enabling him to swiftly move about and unleash his shotgun and automatic rifle, causing havoc among his adversaries. Furthermore, since the room is enclosed, his ultimate attack, Final Judgement, can obliterate an entire enemy team in a single strike.

Moving forward, we find ourselves in the district known as Stellar Spaceport, where our protagonist, The Punisher, maintains an advantage. Here, he’s able to employ his formidable Culling Turret to seize key strategic locations that lead to the capture point. Upon entry, he can swiftly maneuver and obstruct adversaries from regaining control over the area.

As a die-hard movie fan, I’d say in my own words: “In the thrilling finale, ‘Warrior Falls’ becomes my territory, Moon Knight’s character domain. This zone boasts two narrow bottlenecks flanking it. With Moon Knight by my side, I can strategically place Ankhs at these chokepoints, denying entry to the enemy forces. From this vantage point, I can skillfully use Moon Knight’s Crescent Darts, ricocheting them off enemies and the Ankhs, obliterating multiple adversaries simultaneously while maintaining control over the capture area.
