At present, “Dark and Darker” is an exclusive dungeon exploration game offered in Early Access, emphasizing Player versus Player versus Environment (PvPvE) gameplay. In this setting, players engage in combat not only with one another, but also with their surroundings.
In your journey through the labyrinth, you and your team will collaborate to acquire weapons, armor, enhancements, and other vital items as you strive to safely exit the dungeon. However, you’re not the only group with this objective; you’ll face challenges from competing parties who are similarly trying to escape. This game offers a fresh take on the Battle Royale concept, evoking feelings reminiscent of tabletop role-playing games.
The Legendary version of the game includes the following upgrades
- Access to the High-Roller Dungeons and the Arena! Are you ready for the ultimate challenge! Take on harder enemies and get better loot!
- 9 Additional character slots! Don’t be limited to just a single character or class. Experiment with a multitude of different builds or playstyles!
- Sell items on the Marketplace and gain access to the Trading Post! – Please be aware that these extra trading privileges unlock 72 hours after the ‘Legendary’ status has been activated.
- 1 Shared Stash! – Gain some extra space for your loot and easily transfer items between your characters on the same account.
- Triumph Boost! Gain 50% more Triumph Experience each time you successfully extract from a dungeon. These points help you earn Bluestone Shards that can be used to unlock exclusive cosmetics!
2023 saw a contentious period for the game “Dark and Darker.” It was temporarily withdrawn from Steam after allegations by Nexon of copyright violation. They claimed that certain elements in “Dark and Darker” mirrored those in a different game being developed by Nexon. However, the case was dismissed later in the year, leading to its eventual reinstatement on digital marketplaces.
