Jujutsu Kaisen’s Epilogues
- Gege Focuses On Multiple Characters
- A Glimpse Of The Future Is Provided
At Jump Festa 2025, it was announced that the popular manga series “Jujutsu Kaisen” will soon receive a 16-page epilogue from its author. This revelation comes as the final volume is about to be released, giving fans insight into what the last chapter, or epilogue, has in store. The focus of this epilogue appears to be on several characters from the story, including Ozawa, Nobara, Panda, and Uraume. These character inclusions have left fans intrigued, as they speculate about the direction the story might take. Previous “Jujutsu Kaisen” epilogues have been arranged in a manner that best follows the series’ timeline for clarity.
Sukuna and Uraume’s Epilogue
Timeline: Heian Era
The epilogue featuring Sukuna and Uraume in the Heian era stands out as the most captivating and emotional segment. It was undeniably the highlight of that particular chapter, and it concluded the piece perfectly. For fans, this was their first comprehensive glimpse into this period, and they had long been anticipating a flashback involving Sukuna and Uraume. Moreover, they yearned for more insights into how these two characters met and the nature of their relationship. With the publication of JJK chapter 272, many questions have been answered.
Why is it that Sukuna-sama never gets cold around me? – Uraume
From my perspective, I stumbled upon a peculiar character named Uraume in what seemed like a woodland expanse. Their abilities, particularly their cryogenic ones, were uncontrollable and wreaked havoc on everything around them, including their own parents. For some unknown reason, Sukuna felt a sense of empathy towards Uraume and invited them to join him. As time passed, they grew more familiar with each other and Sukuna even taught them the art of cooking. At the site of a deer, Sukuna requested Uraume to employ their powers once more. Initially puzzled by the situation, it wasn’t until Sukuna revealed his understanding that Uraume was famished that he suggested they dine.
Afterward, Uraume employed their abilities to chill the meat and extended some to Sukuna too. Overwhelmed by the mastery over their power that Uraume demonstrated, Sukuna inquired about how they had honed this skill. Uraume, it seemed, had taught themselves, leaving Sukuna astonished by their self-taught prowess.
Straightaway, the Monarch of Malevolence recognized their skill, leading him to remain by their side. Simultaneously, he harbored compassion for them, primarily because they were devoid of any support in the world. It was then that Sukuna posed a question: could they slaughter humans? In Sukuna’s view, humans represented an entirely unique culinary delight. However, Uraume didn’t directly respond; instead, their thoughts revolved around how Sukuna remained unfazed by them despite the loss of their entire family due to his powers.
In response to Uraume’s remark, unaware that he was the King of Curses, Sukuna found himself amused. Interestingly, Sukuna shared a similar sentiment because no one in his life had ever shown him the affection that Uraume displayed. With this realization, they continued their stroll, concluding the tale’s final chapter.
Yuji and Ozawa’s Epilogue
Timeline: After The Shinjuku Showdown
In a concise conclusion, Yuji and Ozawa’s final chapter was brief and left some interpretation for readers. It started with a flashback of their past, where they shared a fondness for snow, a memory fans had witnessed in the series. At present, Ozawa was grappling with her anonymity from old school friends, but then, unexpectedly, Yuji recognized her and used her name. Their conversation revolved around life and eventually brought them back to their mutual love for snow.
As I gaze upon the falling snowflakes, it’s like a magical portal transporting me back to the camaraderie of our school days. Just like then, Yuji and Ozawa seem to find joy in this winter wonderland, which subtly suggests a deep connection between them, a bond that only time will tell if it blooms into something more profound.
Nobara’s Epilogue
Timeline: After Gojo’s Death
In a later sequence following JJK’s conclusion, Nobara’s narrative continues, offering fans a heartfelt reunion with her mother, as per Gojo’s wishes. This postscript, however, came as an unexpected surprise to many, as Nobara’s mother was far from the idealized image fans had conceived. She exhibited an alarming level of jealousy and displayed no concerns for her child. Moreover, she seemed devoid of empathy, and her parenting abilities were questionable at best.
The thing you were lacking was sorcery skills, but parental skills. – Nobara
Despite continuing to socialize with younger men, party, and spend money without contributing much to Nobara’s upbringing, her mother could have easily made Nobara feel sad. However, Nobara clarified that she only visited her mother due to Gojo’s wish, not wanting to disrespect the deceased. She expressed dislike for her mother and even invited her grandmother to the scene as well. It seems that Nobara’s mother is fearful of her own mother, both in age and demeanor, which Nobara found amusing, choosing to invite her to the meeting as well.
Panda’s Epilogue
Timeline: 62 Years After JJK’s Ending
60 years after the Shinjuku Showdown arc concludes in Jujutsu Kaisen, an unexpected turn of events unfolds. It transpires that Panda, a key character, was stored away in a facility belonging to the Gojo family around the year 2035. Fast forward to the year 2080, it’s Yuta Okkotsu, who had taken over as head of the Gojo family by then, who discovered that his grandchildren stumbled upon Panda’s cursed body.
The doll occasionally comes to life, though it’s quite infrequent. It turns out that Yuta has two grandchildren – one boy and one girl. They are quite talkative, which is a stark contrast to Yuta himself. Regrettably, we didn’t get any glimpse of Yuta in the final scene at all. However, his grandkids provided plenty of amusement during their appearance. Here’s hoping that the ending of JJK will be expanded upon in future instalments.
Excitedly, I can’t contain my enthusiasm as I share this fantastic news! On a special day in 2024 – December 25th, the Final Volume of Jujutsu Kaisen is set to be unveiled in Japan. As a devoted fan, I eagerly await the English translation, which will become available some time in 2025. Can’t wait to see how it all ends!
