Over the past couple of years, it’s been all about shonen manga for me! These series, known for their vibrant energy and engaging narratives, have taken over the manga world. Most notably, they grace the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump, but you’ll also find some gems published on a monthly basis.

Over time, manga series have been growing shorter, which means more stories come to an end annually. In 2024, several significant manga concluded, leaving a noticeable void in the industry. Here’s a list of the most notable mangas that wrapped up last year.

My Hero Academia is a manga that’s hard to forget once you’ve read it, and it has left a lasting impact on the global manga scene over the past decade. The final fight took place between Deku and Shigaraki and was one that will be remembered for years, especially once it gets animated in the final season of the series. Not all fans were happy with the ending, especially as it didn’t progress Deku and Ochaco’s relationship, but an epilogue in the final volume expanded upon it a bit further, and pretty much made official the couple of Deku and Ochaco. The epilogue also tied other loose ends the story had when it ended. While MHA has ended, fans can still expect some MHA content, specifically some spinoffs and the Vigilantes anime coming next year.

Horikoshi has crafted a heartwarming series that is sure to leave a lasting impression on upcoming Shonen Jump publications following its conclusion. With My Hero Academia wrapping up, Shonen Jump faces a significant void, particularly with other prominent series like JJK nearing their end too.
