Following the instructions provided, I managed to set up a custom match in no time. It’s quite straightforward, really – just a few clicks here and there, and voila! You have your very own lobby to play in.

The options available are extensive, from adding bots to the mix, changing game modes, locking the room with a password, to swapping players or entire teams at will. It’s like having your very own gaming party right at your fingertips!

Inviting friends to join in on the fun is as easy as clicking a button. Well, almost. I still need to find more friends who actually play games… but hey, Rome wasn’t built in a day, right?

On a lighter note, I can just imagine hosting a custom game with all my friends and filling up the room with bots set to ‘easy’. We’d be unstoppable! Or at least, that’s what we tell ourselves. Until the inevitable wipeout occurs. But hey, it’s all in good fun!

If you fancy some less stressful gaming sessions, Quick Match in Marvel Rivals could be your pick. But, suppose you yearn for greater control and personalization over your gameplay experience. In that case, exploring the custom match options might be a better fit for you.

In this tutorial, we’ll guide you on creating personalized games within Marvel Rivals. You can establish your own gaming room for leisurely play, formal competitions, or honing skills against artificial intelligence opponents.

In the game Marvel Rivals, custom modes offer a greater degree of adaptability, be it when you’re engaging with existing companions or seeking out new acquaintances.

Let’s go over how to make your own custom matches.

Making Custom Games in Marvel Rivals

As a seasoned gamer, I’ve dived into countless virtual worlds, and Marvel Rivals is no exception. First things first, let me guide you through opening the play lobby. If you’re new to this game or need a refresher, don’t worry, I’ve got your back. Here we go!

On the start screen, click the play button as indicated below.

Next, you’ll want to click the button that says “Quick Match.”

In my personal experience, I find that adjusting game settings, as indicated by a small, less prominent, and somewhat translucent button, can significantly enhance or alter the gaming experience. This subtle yet crucial feature has saved me from countless frustrations and allowed for more immersive play on various occasions. Therefore, I strongly recommend paying attention to these often overlooked details while setting up games.

This brings up all your available game mode options within Marvel Rivals.

We’re looking for a Custom Game, so click that.

Step right into our Custom Game setting! Feel free to jump into existing games by selecting ‘join’, or stir up something fresh by hitting ‘create’ yourself.

Marvel Rivals Custom Game Options

After crafting your unique game within Marvel Rivals, you’ll find a variety of ways to personalize your gaming journey.

We’ll go over things in more detail, but here’s an overview if everything you can do:

  • You can add bots to the lobby to auto-fill the room.
  • You can change the map/game mode settings.
  • You can lock the room with a password.
  • Once full, you can randomly swap players or swap entire teams.

Including bots in your game is as straightforward as pressing the “Add Bots” button. You have the flexibility to select an easy, medium, or challenging skill level.

As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I’ve learned to appreciate the nuances that make online gaming enjoyable and fair for all players. The room settings, in my opinion, are a game-changer, allowing me to control who can join the game through the Join Access menu. This feature ensures that only those invited or with the correct credentials can participate, eliminating unwanted intrusions and maintaining a sense of exclusivity when needed.

Similarly, spectating options are crucial for learning from others or simply observing a match without interfering. The ability to switch between playing and spectating is a feature I’ve come to rely on in my gaming journey.

Lastly, the option to set ban/pick rules during competitive modes is essential for maintaining a level playing field and promoting fairness among players. This rule-setting flexibility adds another layer of customization that makes every game feel unique and tailored to my preferences. In conclusion, these settings not only enhance my gaming experience but also contribute to a more enjoyable and equitable environment for all participants.

At the bottom right corner, you’ll find the game mode and map information. If you click on the map symbol, it will open the map settings menu for you. This menu allows you to choose which maps you want to see, ranging from a single map, several options, or all the available maps on offer.

Besides choosing from Quick Match, Competitive play, and an Arcade-style Team Deathmatch, you have the flexibility to customize gameplay settings. In competitive modes, you can even adjust the ban/pick rules to add a touch of gravity to your gaming experience.

As a seasoned gamer who has had countless experiences with unexpected intruders ruining my game sessions, I wholeheartedly endorse the option to lock your room and set a password. It’s like having your own secret hideout where you can enjoy your gaming experience without any interruptions or unwanted guests.

To create this sanctuary, simply navigate to the room settings, locate the “lock room” box, and input a strong password that only trusted friends can guess. With this simple step, you’ll ensure that other players can only join your room if they have the right key. It’s a game-changer for those who value their gaming time and want to control their virtual environment. So go ahead, take charge of your gaming space, and let the good times roll!

Once you’re ready to go, click the yellow start button in the lobby and get playing!

How to Invite Friends to Custom Games

In Marvel Rivals, custom games offer a fantastic opportunity to engage with friends in a controlled setting where interaction is restricted to known individuals only. If you prefer more personal gaming experiences or wish to have fun by competing against artificial opponents together, the Custom Games feature caters exactly to your needs.

First, you need to get a friend. It’s harder than it looks, as I only have two.

After setting up the lobby, look for the friends icon located at the upper right corner of your screen, as shown here.

From there, right click their name and select “invite” to invite them to your Custom Game!
