Why Marvel Rivals’ Fantastic Four Might Mean One Leaked Villain is Unlikely

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that Marvel Rivals has truly caught my attention. The combination of beloved Marvel characters and an Overwatch-style PvP format is a winning formula if there ever was one. And the fact that it managed to draw in 10 million players before its first season even started? That’s just mind-blowing!

I’ve seen my fair share of games come and go, but Marvel Rivals seems to be here to stay. With Season 0 coming to an end on January 10, I can hardly wait for what Season 1 has in store – new maps, characters, cosmetics, modes, and more!

The confirmation that The Fantastic Four will be joining the roster is a welcome addition, especially since they’re some of my favorite Marvel heroes. I’ve always been a fan of their unique abilities and playstyles, so I can only imagine how they’ll shake things up in Marvel Rivals.

However, this news might mean that one of the leaked villains is further off than fans were expecting – namely Ultron. While I wouldn’t mind seeing him join the roster, I can see why his inclusion seems less likely with the season’s Fantastic Four theme. After all, Ultron is more associated with The Avengers than The Fantastic Four.

That being said, I do have a feeling that we might see him pop up in a mid-season event themed around The Avengers or perhaps even in Season 2. But for now, it looks like NetEase has bigger fish to fry – and those fish are The Fantastic Four!

Oh, and just one more thing – I can’t help but wonder if Ultron will ever learn to take a joke… because if he does, he really hasn’t met the right people yet! 😄

It’s not surprising that gamers have been captivated by Marvel Rivals, given its unique blend of popular characters such as Spider-Man, Iron Man, and Wolverine with a multiplayer versus (PvP) format reminiscent of Overwatch. What is astonishing is that this live service game has achieved such remarkable success before its inaugural season has even commenced.

According to the ongoing battle pass of Marvel Rivals, the first season, which is set to begin shortly after January 10, will introduce new locations, characters, items, and game modes, including a potential Capture the Flag mode. Previous leaked artwork hinted at the addition of The Fantastic Four – Mr. Fantastic, The Invisible Woman, The Human Torch, and The Thing – in the upcoming season 1. This is exciting news for Marvel fans who appreciate the first family, but it might suggest that a previously leaked villain may not be appearing as soon as some fans had hoped.

How The Fantastic Four’s Confirmation Could Impact Ultron

It’s not surprising that The Fantastic Four will be joining Marvel Rivals, given that Mr. Fantastic was leaked as a playable character at the beginning of December and The Fantastic Four: First Steps is one of the most eagerly awaited Marvel Cinematic Universe releases for this year. The Fantastic Four would also be an excellent fit for Marvel Rivals’ roster because each character offers a distinct gameplay style. Mr. Fantastic and The Human Torch could take on the Duelist role, while The Invisible Woman might function as a Strategist, and The Thing would make a great Vanguard to counteract The Hulk. However, it seems that the first season of Marvel Rivals is centered around The Fantastic Four, which makes the addition of Ultron to the game less likely in the immediate future.

Ultron’s Initial Marvel Rivals Leak

According to renowned leaker RivalsLeaks, it appears that Ultron might show up in the game Marvel Rivals. This character is rumored to be a Strategist, rated at 2 stars in terms of difficulty. His abilities include an energy beam attack, healing drones for allies and damaging enemies, and flight capabilities much like Iron Man’s. Initially, it was suggested by RivalsLeaks that Ultron would debut in Marvel Rivals during Season 1. However, with the season focusing on the Fantastic Four, his inclusion seems less probable at this point.

Ultron’s Clash with The Fantastic Four

As a die-hard Marvel fan, I must admit that while The Fantastic Four and Ultron are both beloved characters, they don’t quite share the same dynamic. Ultron is primarily associated with the Avengers. His debut in the comic world was in issue 55 of The Avengers, and he also served as the main adversary in the 2015 film, Avengers: Age of Ultron. Although Ultron has had run-ins with The Fantastic Four in the comic book universe, it’s a bit of a stretch to categorize him as a villain exclusive to The Fantastic Four.

It’s not a certainty that Ultron will appear in Marvel Rivals during its first season, given the recent announcement of The Fantastic Four. Introducing Ultron could potentially conflict with the Fantastic Four theme, and since the new team will already be introducing four fresh characters to the existing 33 heroes, it might not be essential for Ultron at this time. If a mid-season event themed around Ultron’s character were planned, his arrival could make more sense, but for now, it seems more logical for NetEase to delay and introduce Ultron in Season 2 instead. Potential details about both Ultron and The Fantastic Four may be revealed in Marvel Rivals’ first trailer set to release on January 6.
