Microsoft has revealed modifications in its Xbox loyalty program, which include new features and improvements that are worth taking note of.
On our official blog, you’ll find comprehensive details, but we’ve provided a summary of the main points for your convenience. Additionally, there’s a fresh trailer available to watch below that provides a concise overview. It’s important to note at the outset that this update will not alter existing Rewards or points accrued by players, and children under 18 will continue to accumulate Microsoft Rewards points through parentally approved purchases of eligible items on the Microsoft Store, eligible searches on Microsoft Bing, and other non-gaming activities like completing the Microsoft Rewards Daily Set.
As a gamer, I was previously only able to access Quests, which offer additional rewards through Xbox’s Game Pass Ultimate membership. However, starting from January 7th, these Quests are now accessible for PC Game Pass members too! This means that I can earn Rewards points not just on console and mobile devices but also on my PC. Excitingly, the new Game Pass Quests will soon be available in Japan as well, providing a full Rewards with Xbox experience for gamers in that region.
In relation to these updates, it’s essential to play games for a certain duration to accumulate points via gameplay. At the moment, Quests can only be accessed for titles in the Game Pass library; however, this does not encompass PC games that necessitate third-party launchers or are played on Battle.net. According to the team, they’ve given a fresh take on the Game Pass Quests for Xbox rewards system. Here are the revised methods to accumulate Xbox reward points:
1. Complete achievements in supported games.
2. Participate in weekly challenges.
3. Unlock special quests within select titles.
4. Achieve specific objectives during gameplay.
5. Engage in daily missions for bonus points.
- Daily Play – Earn 10 points a day by playing any game from the Game Pass catalog for at least 15 minutes.
- Weekly Streaks – Play for at least five days a week to complete your streak. The more days you play, the more points you earn. Now comes the challenge: maintain your streak week over week to unlock bigger point multipliers. A 2-week streak will earn 2x the base streak points, a 3-week streak will earn 3x the base streak points, and anything beyond a 4-week streak will earn 4x the base streak points.
- Monthly 4-Pack – Explore the Game Pass catalog by playing four different games (for at least 15 minutes each) every month.
- Monthly 8-Pack – Push your gaming further and play eight different games (for at least 15 minutes each) every calendar month. Don’t worry, the 4 games from your 4-Pack count towards the 8-Pack, too.
Additionally, there’s a weekly PC bonus (“earn 150 points by playing for at least 15 minutes each day for 5 days or more”). Essentially, this means that if, like me, you often spend hours on Astroneer every few days, you can still accumulate points.
