This year, Pokémon enthusiasts can expect a large number of Eevee, as suggested by the post on the official Pokémon website.
Although we’re not completely clear on the specifics of the “Eevee Year,” there are several points we can confirm in the immediate future, and we can also speculate plausible possibilities for the distant future.
Initially, we focus on established facts: The primary merchandise store of Pokémon, known as the Pokéemon Center, is actively promoting items related to Eevee and its various evolutions. In this case, they are emphasizing intricate figurines, and we’ve already seen a sneak peek of one for Jolteon.
Beyond that, Eevee fans can expect to see Pop! Vinyls, kitchen designs, and keychains.
Additionally, we’re restocking some popular items, specifically plush dolls. Previously, avid collectors had trouble finding specific Eevee evolutions in these plush forms. With the arrival of our latest stock, we hope to alleviate this issue and make it easier for fans to obtain their favorite characters.
However, it seems that affection for Eevee isn’t limited just to the Pokémon Center. As IGN noted, the Pokémon Trading Card Game has been expressing quite a bit of love for Eevee in the most recent release – Prismatic Evolution.
Although not yet available, it is known that the collection contains fresh cards for the diverse Eeveelution types, including an anticipated Umbreon card which might attract a substantial interest from collectors.
Will There Be Any New Eeveelutions In Pokémon’s 2025 Videogames?
Z-A, taking place within the Kalos region.
Previously, when we encountered Kalos, it introduced a new form of Eevee: Sylveon. Since then, no more magical cat-like Pokemon have evolved from Eevee for three consecutive generations. This is a first!
It’s often speculated that Eevee might not get any new evolutions because all its existing forms are tied to “special” types – or at least those considered special according to the damage calculation system in generations 1-3. However, it seems we’ve exhausted all available types like these.
In Generation 6, Sylveon, which belongs to a fairy-like type, was introduced. This is well after the changes made in Generation 4 regarding the balance between physical and special attributes. It’s challenging to envision a version of this type from Generations 1, 2, or 3 being classified as “physical” rather than “special”, considering the magical nature typically associated with fairies.
If the promotional efforts for Pokémon are as extensive as they currently are, reaching beyond the Pokémon Center and into the Trading Card Game, then 2025 could very well be the year we witness a fresh Eeveelution. Time seems ripe for this change, with no opportunity to wait for another moment.
