Former Annapurna Staff To Take Over Private Division Franchises

A newly established company, comprising ex-employees from Annapurna Interactive, is poised to assume control over the games and franchises previously handled by Private Division, as per a recent report from Bloomberg.

The name of the new company is currently unknown.

The report indicates that Haveli Investments, a private equity firm based in Austin, Texas, was the previously unidentified purchaser of Private Division towards the end of last year. Subsequent to finalizing the deal, Haveli struck a deal with former Annapurna staff, granting them control over the franchises they acquired. These games encompass Tales of the Shire, Kerbal Space Program, and an upcoming game being developed by Game Freak, the Pokemon development team.

Under this recent agreement, workers who were employed by Private Division at the time of the deal are facing potential layoffs. The exact number of the roughly 20 employees who might lose their jobs is currently uncertain.

According to the report, the current management at Private Division has asked their staff to consider various possibilities, as there is some ambiguity about their future roles within the company.
