At CES 2025, there’s always something exciting happening, and Nvidia certainly delivered, making it worth the wait for those who were patient enough to stick around for their presentation.
Titan Graphics unveiled the latest version of its Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technology for upscaling, simultaneously introducing the RTX 50 series of graphics processors.
DLSS 4 distinguishes itself from earlier versions by incorporating multi-frame creation, a feature designed to push the performance enhancements beyond the typical frame generation technology found in DLSS 3.

DLSS 4 and Older GPUs
Following Nvidia’s typical approach, the standout feature in DLSS 4 is exclusively available for the latest RTX 50 series graphics cards. Given past trends with technological upgrades focusing on enhanced hardware capabilities, this isn’t unexpected.
If your graphics card falls within the RTX 20, 30, or 40 series, you can anticipate further enhancements from DLSS 4.
Among the remaining options, the RTX 40 series stands out as the top choice. The updated DLSS Frame Generation in this new model is anticipated to deliver improved performance and require less VRAM, which is particularly beneficial for memory-intensive games like STALKER 2.
In other areas, Nvidia boasts of enhancing the stability and quality with DLSS 4 in terms of Ray Reconstruction, Super Resolution, and Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing (DLAA).
In scenes brimming with action, I’ve noticed the most significant improvements – previously, DLSS 3 and earlier felt akin to having Vaseline on my screen, blurring the finer details.
It’s pleasing to notice that the Day Zero list has an assortment of well-known AAA games such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Microsoft Flight Simulator alongside emerging indie titles like Gray Zone Warfare and Ground Branch.
In addition to the titles listed, Nvidia has confirmed that DLSS 4 will be available for Black State, DOOM: The Dark Ages, Dune: Awakening, and The Witcher 4 upon their release.
