Summary

  • Haunted Mansion Holiday at Disneyland Resort will run from November 14, 2025, through January 7, 2026.
  • The traditional Haunted Mansion experience is set to take over from Haunted Mansion Holiday on January 18, 2025.
  • The ride has seen improvements such as an expanded exterior queue, upgraded grounds, and an ADA-accessible elevator

Fans of Disneyland Resort’s Haunted Mansion attraction will be thrilled to hear a change in plans for 2025. Instead of the annual Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay starting earlier as usual, the traditional Haunted Mansion ride will be available during the Halloween season instead. This shift from last year, when the attraction closed early for refurbishment and Haunted Mansion Holiday started its run ahead of schedule, is noteworthy. On October 31, 2025, visitors to Disneyland can expect an authentic Haunted Mansion experience with its spooky atmosphere and spectral inhabitants.

During the Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay, the mansion’s exterior takes on a festive blend of Halloween and Christmas motifs. Jack-o’-lanterns and spooky holiday ornaments embellish every nook, while Jack Skellington’s coffin sleigh sits dramatically atop the roof. The whimsical “Christmas Equation” stretches from the rooftop to the ground, and the famous Halloween Town countdown clock ticks down, displaying the number of days remaining until Christmas. Upon entry, visitors are greeted by the eerie foyer, which is adorned with skull wreaths and haunting decorations. As the Ghost Host commences his poetic narration, he sets the stage for the ensuing adventure.

In previous years, characters like Jack Skellington from Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” have turned the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland Resort into a spooktacular holiday experience in late summer. However, Disneyland has announced that in 2025, this seasonal overlay will take place from November 14, 2025, to January 7, 2026, ensuring the original ride continues to run during Halloween. From November 1 onwards, when visitors enter the foyer, they’ll find it redecorated with skull wreaths and festive holiday decorations. The Ghost Host sets the stage with a chilling poem, telling the story of the transformation for this special season.

Disneyland Announces the Return of Haunted Mansion Holiday

  • Haunted Mansion Holiday at Disneyland Resort will run from November 14, 2025, through January 7, 2026.

Furthermore, starting January 18, 2025, the classic Haunted Mansion will come back with a bang after undergoing significant renovations over the past year. These upgrades consist of an enlarged queue area outside, improved gardens, and the installation of an ADA-compatible hallway and elevator for guests with mobility issues to navigate more easily. Simultaneously, the revamped outdoor queue offers new sights and sounds for guests to enjoy on their way to the mansion’s entrance.

Despite being entirely taken down during renovation, cherished features such as the pet cemetery were meticulously saved and integrated into the revamped grounds, which now showcase stunningly redesigned gardens. Moreover, Disney has built anticipation by revealing a new rendition of the Haunted Mansion Bride, hinted at through the launch of an associated souvenir sipper and a portrait displayed in the newly opened shop, Madame Leota’s Somewhere Beyond.

2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year for fans of both the traditional Haunted Mansion and Haunted Mansion Holiday. During Disneyland Resort’s 70th Anniversary Celebration, which begins on May 16, 2025, and continues through summer 2026, the classic Haunted Mansion will be accessible for a longer period. This extension will enhance the nostalgic atmosphere surrounding the anniversary events by keeping the original attraction available.
