Summary
- Black Clover nearing its end with Jump GIGA release schedule
- Next chapter in Spring 2025 likely the “climax of the Kingdom’s battle”
- Transition from Shonen Jump to Jump GIGA relieved hiatus pressure
It’s been announced that the final story arc of Black Clover is approaching. Fortunately, before bidding farewell, fans can look forward to reading not just one but two new chapters this month, as a fresh issue of Jump GIGA will be released on January 10th.
This series gained significant popularity following its anime debut and became a massive success in Shonen Jump. However, it went on a break and has now been shifted from Shonen Jump to Jump GIGA, a magazine with irregular publication schedules, typically published every three months. While Jump GIGA may have varying release dates, its issues are usually special editions.
Based on recent updates, it appears that the upcoming chapter is scheduled for the Spring Issue, estimated to arrive in April 2025. However, it seems that this story may reach its climax and conclusion this year, as the chapter is said to showcase the “peak of the Kingdom’s decisive battle.
Observing closely, it appears that the impending conflict may mark the culmination of Yuuki Tabata’s narrative, yet there remains a lingering suspicion that he has more storyline up his sleeve. Typically, “climax” denotes the peak or decisive point in a manga, but given the anticipation among fans for a swift conclusion, it’s possible that we might witness one or two final chapters serving as an epilogue to reveal the fates of our beloved characters post-conflict.
Black Clover Moved from Shonen Jump to Jump GIGA
When Black Clover shifted to Jump GIGA, some readers were taken aback but perhaps also felt a sense of relief, considering the series had experienced pauses in its publication schedule and, without an official announcement from Jump, it appeared that author Tabata was encountering difficulties (and possibly health issues) in maintaining a weekly manga release.
Consequently, although this title is renowned within the magazine, the editorial staff chose to transfer it to Jump GIGA, adjusting the publication frequency to a four-month cycle instead.
The Anime Adaptation Is Incomplete
Back in March 2021, the widely-adored “Black Clover” anime concluded its run. Ever since then, fans have been eagerly waiting for Studio Pierrot to make an announcement about bringing the series back, to continue telling the remaining storyline.
It’s been quiet about that matter, which makes it even more unexpected that the studio suddenly halted production on Black Clover, a beloved series. Yet, it’s not just Black Clover that Pierrot has put on ice. A unique series commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Naruto anime was slated for release in 2023, but has since been indefinitely postponed. It’s possible that adapting Bleach: Thousand-Year Bloody War is proving to be more complex than initially expected, leading the studio to prioritize this project over others for now.
Black Clover‘s latest chapters can be read for free on the Manga Plus and Shonen Jump services.
