One of these instances was exceptionally well-crafted by Kishimoto – when Naruto defended Hinata during the Chunin Exams arc. Similarly, when Hinata saved Naruto from Pain, it was evident that Kishimoto had invested effort into this storyline. However, in the war, the decision to kill off Neji to bring Naruto and Hinata together was widely criticized as one of Kishimoto’s poorest choices. This action seemed more like a desperate attempt to salvage a troubled romance subplot and convince fans that he had adequately developed their relationship, ultimately leaving many feeling unsatisfied with the outcome for these characters.

If Masashi Kishimoto aimed to provide a satisfying romantic subplot for the audience, he ought to have dedicated an entire storyline to their relationship, exploring Naruto’s connection with Hinata in greater depth and giving more emphasis to her feelings for him.

Indeed, I was thrilled to witness The Last: Naruto the Movie, but it fell short of satisfying my expectations, coming far too late when we had already anticipated their union. Although the beloved characters and their romance weren’t at fault, I couldn’t help but feel that the author missed an opportunity to truly celebrate their bond in a more meaningful way.
