Pokemon TCG Pocket Players Discover Major Issue with Wonder Pick Event

Summary

  • The collection missions that are part of the latest Pokemon TCG Pocket Wonder Pick event went live after their accompanying Chansey Picks.
  • Players could hence collect promo Charmander and Squirtle cards before their collection tasks were available.
  • Any cards obtained during this period annoyingly don’t count toward collection mission requirements.

Some Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket users have found a problem with the recent Wonder Pick event where they are compelled to complete certain mission tasks twice due to a bug. This issue, reportedly present in some earlier events too, could frustrate the most meticulous Pokemon TCG Pocket enthusiasts, who aim to clear missions swiftly and efficiently.

DeNA’s popular mobile game has been running Wonder Pick promotions frequently since its launch in late October 2024. The most recent Pokemon TCG Pocket Wonder Pick event began on January 6, at 10pm local time. As with previous events, the new promotion offers a steady stream of Chansey Picks, which give players a chance to collect promotional cards. In this instance, the featured cards are Charmander #32 and Squirtle #33, both from the Promo A set and classified as rare.

Similar to previous Wonder Pick occasions, the early January 2025 event offers themed missions for players to accomplish and receive unique Pokemon TCG Pocket Shop Tickets. These objectives involve two groups of challenges where players need to gather a specific quantity of Charmander and Squirtle cards, which are highlighted in the event. However, as pointed out by Reddit user Arucious, these missions became active following their related Chansey Picks. Unfortunately, the game does not automatically credit players who have already fulfilled the prerequisites.

Some Pokemon TCG Pocket Wonder Pick Mission Requirements May Need To Be Completed Twice

Due to an oversight, players of the Pokemon TCG Pocket game managed to acquire Charmander #32, Squirtle #33, or both, prior to when their collection tasks were made available. However, these cards didn’t contribute towards the mission requirements for those who obtained them early. Reddit user Arucious was the first to bring this issue to light, and it wasn’t long before numerous other players reported experiencing the same problem after Arucious’ initial post. Some users even claimed that similar problems had occurred in several past Wonder Pick events.

As a dedicated gamer, I haven’t seen any official recognition of the current problem from DeNA yet. However, based on their past responses to similar minor issues, it’s reasonable to expect they’ll address this one promptly too. For instance, remember the bug in Pokemon TCG Pocket that concealed Shop freebies back in mid-December 2024? It was fixed in just a few days! So, here’s hoping this issue gets resolved swiftly as well.

As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news! If you’re among those impacted players, don’t lose heart! The Pokemon TCG Pocket Wonder Pick promo is still going strong and will continue until January 20, at 9:59pm local time. This means there’s still plenty of time for us fans who haven’t started the event’s tasks yet to complete them all before the limited-time missions expire. So let’s seize this opportunity and keep playing!
