Mr. Osomatsu Season 4 Reveals Release Window And New PV

Summary

  • Mr. Osomatsu getting a new season in July 2025.
  • New season directed by Yoshinori Odaka, replacing Youichi Fujita.
  • Story follows lazy NEET Matsuno brothers with unique personalities.

This year, we’ll be seeing a fresh season for Mr. Osomatsu, often referred to as “Osomatsu-san.” Back in 2015, this series turned out to be quite the surprise success. It stands out as one of the most ingeniously simple concepts for revitalizing an established franchise that’s been around for a while.

For decades, Osomatsu-kun has been cherished by Japanese viewers. This tale was crafted by Fujio Akatsuka and focuses on the Matsuno family’s sextuplet brothers. It’s a humorous children’s show filled with lighthearted comedy. To honor the author’s 80th birthday, a fresh take on the Matsuno brothers presents them as fully grown adults, adding depth to the narrative while maintaining its comedic spirit. Although Osomatsu-kun is not well-known internationally, this reimagined series, streamable on Crunchyroll, has drawn interest from audiences worldwide.

It’s now confirmed that the fourth season will premiere in July 2025, though a specific launch date remains undisclosed. Alongside this timeframe, a fresh trailer has been unveiled.

Mr. Osomatsu Staff And Premise

Each Sextuplet Has Their Own Personality

The television series of Mr. Osomatsu has been produced by studio Pierrot, known for their work on shows like Bleach, Naruto, and Black Clover. Seasons 1 through 3 were overseen by director Youichi Fujita, who had previously worked on numerous Gintama episodes and films.

For the upcoming season, it’s Yoshinori Odaka taking over as director from Fujita. Odaka has been involved in previous seasons and even directed a 2022 film. Notably, he also helmed the popular anime adaptation of Mr. Villain’s Day Off. However, some fans might feel a bit apprehensive due to the 2022 film receiving mixed reviews from the niche audience. Despite this, all seasons have been penned by Shuu Matsubara, who has also contributed to writing episodes for Gintama, ensuring a similar style in tone to the previous episodes.

In this tale, every Matsuno brother has fallen into idleness, becoming NEETs. We delve into their ordinary lives, filled with challenges such as job-hunting, and what makes the anime particularly captivating is that each brother possesses unique characteristics and personalities. Despite their physical similarities, viewers can effortlessly tell them apart after watching for a while due to these distinct traits.

In the revamped version of “Osomatsu-kun,” many familiar faces return from the original tale, each carrying their own questionable traits that contribute to the story’s amusement. Essentially, this series is a humorous take on classic children’s cartoons, and it has struck a chord with viewers not only in Japan but also globally.

Mr. Osomatsu is currently streaming on Crunchyroll.
