Optic Gaming has shared on social media their announcement about the 2025 Halo Championship Series team lineup. In a surprising change, it appears that FormaL, Bound, Renegade, and Legend will represent OpTic Gaming as their main squad for the upcoming season, symbolizing Team Green.
In the previous season, Optic struggled significantly as they didn’t manage to clinch any major titles, yet they consistently finished runner-up on five different occasions. Regrettably, they couldn’t win the championship at any HCS Major or Halo World Championships.
Every loss except for one came at the hands of Spacestation.
New Year, New OpTic
OpTic’s social media post announcing the team was met with jubilation from fans:
The team has been dubbed the ‘Divine Squad’ due to its current roster consisting of some of the most skilled players in today’s Halo esports scene.
FormaL is a highly distinguished figure in the world of esports, as he’s one of only two professional gamers globally who have won world championship titles in not one, but two different games. He has been widely regarded as one of the finest (and arguably the best) players using controllers in the history of competitive gaming.
In a surprising twist, Bound and Legend have moved from Spacestation to OpTic Gaming, the same team that OpTic struggled against multiple times last year. This turn of events, while amusing in some sense, raises the question: Will this duo help OpTic clinch trophies this season, or will they continue to thwart OpTic’s victories at the final hurdle?
Lastly, we have Renegade, who has moved to OpTic Gaming from FaZe Clan, the second-best team that managed to outrank OpTic in the previous season during an HCS Major tournament.
