The debut expansion for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, ‘Claws of Awaji’, has been disclosed, offering more than 10 hours of extra gameplay content.

The latest details about the game emerged from an update on the Assassin’s Creed Shadows Steam webpage, following its recent postponement.

In this latest update, the fresh description goes like this: “Pre-order now to receive a bonus mission and the forthcoming Claws of Awaji expansion. Explore a brand new region, enjoy over 10 hours of extra content, and gain access to a novel weapon type, new skills, equipment, and abilities.

Apart from the Claws of Awaji, TopMob was the first to announce in October 2024 that Ubisoft intends to launch a cooperative gameplay mode for Shadows. At present, this project is being kept secret under the name ‘League’.

The action-adventure game “Assassin’s Creed: Shadows” is scheduled for launch on March 20, 2025, as confirmed by Marc-Alexis Côté, since the team requires a bit more time to incorporate modifications following player feedback.

According to the team’s sources, Côté’s comments indicate that they are focusing on perfecting the game internally, as their staff mentioned that the delay is intended to make the game as flawless as can be.

Last year, I found myself eagerly awaiting the release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows on February 14, 2025, but then I heard it was getting a delay. It turned out that the developers needed more time to perfect the game and ensure its setting felt as authentic as possible. Insiders hinted at this behind-the-scenes adjustment.

Regarding the scheduled media previews, it appears they’ve been postponed, and we might need to be patient for a bit more since Ubisoft plans to announce new dates soon.
