Summary
- Gojo was on par with Sukuna in power, showing his incredible strength in JJK.
- Gojo had potential to grow even stronger by mastering his abilities like RCT healing.
- Despite his untimely death, Gojo could have surpassed Sukuna with further advancements.
In the popular manga series “JJK,” Gojo Satoru stands as a central and iconic figure, representing the franchise for quite some time. Fan reaction was heart-wrenching when he met his demise in chapter 236 of the storyline. At the conclusion of this chapter, it was none other than Gojo Satoru who breathed his last. It’s a great pity that such an end befell him. Although the event itself is sad for fans, it is also doubly tragic for Gojo himself.
It is well-known among followers that his power was immense, earning him the title of the most potent contemporary sorcerer. Yet, it’s plausible that Gojo might have grown even more powerful in the future, potentially outmatching anyone who dared to confront him.
Gojo’s Peak in Jujutsu Kaisen
- Gojo Was Sukuna’s Equal
- His Strength Was Unquestionably Tremendous
In Jujutsu Kaisen, Gojo’s prowess was nothing short of astonishing, and his fight against Sukuna provided a captivating sneak peek into his abilities. It’s widely agreed among fans that this battle stands out as the most remarkable encounter within the series. By then in the narrative, Gojo had amassed an extraordinary power level. He was not only acknowledged as the strongest contemporary sorcerer but also one who could challenge Sukuna. From the start of their confrontation, it was electrifying for viewers, and the author emphasized that these two were closely matched. Gojo’s mastery over his cursed energy was impressive, and his fighting style demonstrated remarkable intuition. To further underscore his abilities, Gojo displayed his exceptional intelligence by independently learning all the secret techniques of the Gojo family. Gege himself confirmed that there was little that Gojo couldn’t excel at when he focused on something.
Don’t get it twisted! You’re the challenger here! – Gojo
In terms of his peak abilities, it’s common knowledge among fans that Gojo possessed extraordinary powers, including the Limitless cursed technique and the Six Eyes. The combination of these two gave Gojo a significant edge over most of his adversaries in the series. However, Gojo is not solely defined by these two talents. He also has the capability to harness the power of reverse cursed techniques, enabling him to heal himself. Furthermore, he can manipulate the burnt-out cursed technique and then effectively use his cursed technique multiple times due to this ability.
At the zenith of his abilities, Gojo matched Sukuna in strength. Their battle was a close call from start to finish, but ultimately, it was Sukuna who emerged victorious thanks to the Ten Shadows Technique. This defeat was crucial for Yuji’s growth. If Gojo hadn’t perished, fans wouldn’t have witnessed Yuji growing as they did, and his development might have plateaued, similar to Megumi and Nobara.
From Gojo’s perspective, the character fans witnessed battling Sukuna held the most experience, talent, and virtually every other aspect depicted in the story. It’s a pity that he met his end, as if he had lived, the abilities he would have gained would have made him appear even more impressive.
How Gojo Would Have Grown Stronger
Gojo Satoru Could’ve Strengthened His Cursed Energy Usage
One possible way for Gojo to have become even more powerful is by refining skills he already possesses. For example, Gojo is an exceptional user of Reverse Cursed Technique (RCT), arguably the best fans have seen in JJK. However, his abilities with RCT are somewhat restricted. Specifically, Gojo lacks the knowledge to heal others using this technique. It’s plausible that given more time, Gojo could have acquired this aspect of his power, enabling him to save additional lives in the future.
Another black flash. Gojo Satoru’s voltage continues to rise. – Narrator
If he had truly focused on mastering this skill instead of persistently engaging in one-on-one battles, and considering that acquiring a healing technique would make Shoko redundant due to his reverse curse ability, it seems he chose not to exploit this power.
It’s worth noting that Sukuna kept growing during the Shinjuku Showdown, and the same happened with Gojo after triggering multiple Black Flashes and establishing an RCT circuit. If Gojo had persisted in fighting, he might have advanced further and possibly undergone more awakenings – for instance, one where his cursed techniques reappeared to him.
Absolutely, Gojo’s power could have significantly increased given more time. It’s important to note that Gojo was quite young in the narrative; at the point of his demise, he was merely 28 years old. This implies that there was still a substantial potential for him to become even stronger.
Could Gojo Have Surpassed Sukuna?
Gojo Would’ve Grown Stronger Than Sukuna
In essence, although Gojo suffered defeat at the hands of Sukuna, they were remarkably evenly matched in terms of power. This is because when Gojo lost, he was using Megumi’s body, which effectively gave Sukuna control over two cursed techniques instead of one. Each of these abilities was powerful enough to rival Gojo’s own individual powers. However, when combined, they exceeded Gojo’s capabilities and led to his defeat. This implies that at the time of their confrontation, Gojo was already on par with Sukuna’s power level, and possibly could have emerged victorious had he been using his own body.
If Gojo had lived longer, he might have refined numerous facets of his cursed technique, including control, and enhanced other uses as well. It’s worth noting that Gojo, despite considering himself fully developed, still had room for growth. There’s a chance he could have outpaced Sukuna and become the greatest of all time in this context.
Unfortunately, in JJK, Gojo met an untimely end, leaving fans utterly stunned. Although a few fans held onto hope that Gojo might resurface later, it unfortunately didn’t materialize due to several factors. The primary reason was that the author had actually planned this plotline for Gojo much earlier, and the fact that JJK was approaching its finale.
With the series now concluded, it’s highly unlikely we’ll see Gojo resurrected. Gojo was an extraordinary character, and though he might have become even more powerful, fans recognize him as a representation of strength, affection, empathy, and bravery above all else. He is an iconic figure who will be fondly remembered for generations to come, and one that redefined what it means to be a beloved character.
At long last, Chapter 271 of Jujutsu Kaisen was made available for reading on September 29, 2024. Readers can enjoy the series on the Manga Plus and Shonen Jump mobile applications.
