Oricon has unveiled the top 20 television series that sold the most copies in the month of December 2024. The strong sales figures are indicative of either the conclusion of some popular series or the debut of anime adaptations based on them.

Even though some highly-acclaimed series didn’t reach the top recently, it’s not surprising given that their most recent volumes were published several months back.

Jujutsu Kaisen Takes The Top Spot

In the month of December 2024, it was no surprise that “Jujutsu Kaisen” held the title of top-selling manga series. Given its widespread popularity, this wasn’t unexpected. The reason for these impressive sales is because the final volume of “Jujutsu Kaisen” was released in December, marking the end of the story. This concluding volume included a fresh epilogue as well.

The total sales for December that Jujutsu Kaisen had was 1,836,843 copies.

The 2nd to 5th Most Sold Manga Series in December 2024

My Hero Academia Ranks Up There

In December 2024, the second best-selling manga was “My Hero Academia,” a well-known series by Kohei Horikoshi, similar to “Jujutsu Kaisen.” The fact that it had recently concluded and the high demand for the final volume contributed significantly to its sales. The last installment of MHA also included a substantial epilogue, selling an impressive 1,182,751 copies.

Coming in third place is the popular new anime series, “Dandadan”. The series has gained significant attention due to its recent successful anime adaptation, boosting the manga’s sales. As a result, it managed to sell an impressive 772,790 copies.

In the fourth spot among top-selling series in December 2024, we find “Blue Lock,” a highly demanded title that boasts impressive sales figures. Despite its animated version experiencing a drop in quality, “Blue Lock” managed to shift an astounding 587,071 copies.

5th on the list is the manga known as Kingdom. This manga has consistently been one of the top performers for some time now. It has successfully maintained its popularity throughout the years, and in December alone, it sold a total of 473,992 copies.

With the top 5 out of the way, the other 5 mangas in the top 10 did pretty well for themselves.

In a similar vein to “Jujutsu Kaisen” and “My Hero Academia,” the 6th most popular manga, titled “Oshi No Ko,” has concluded its run. This ending undoubtedly boosts its sales.

Blue Box, which recently got an anime, makes it to the 7th spot.

The Apothecary Diaries currently ranks 8th among the most thriving mangas, and there’s a lot of excitement for its upcoming anime series in 2025.

Chainsaw Man’s latest release saw to it that it takes the 9th spot.

Finally, the 10th manga in December 2024 was Kagurabachi.
