Originating from Coin Crew Games in Los Angeles, the intriguing puzzle game Escape Academy was launched for PC and gaming consoles in July 2022. In this title, players assume the role of students at the academy, challenged to hone their skills and ultimately become adept at mastering escape rooms.
It’s official! The upcoming free game on the Epic Games Store is “Escape Academy.” Starting Thursday, January 16, PC gamers can claim it, once the current giveaway of “Turmoil” ends. You have until January 23 to add “Escape Academy” to your library on the Epic Games Store at no cost.
Escape Academy Was Already Free on EGS Once Before
On January 1, 2024, Epic Games Store will offer the game “Escape Academy” for free as its mystery game of the day. This will be the first time that this 2022 title is available for a whole week without charge on their digital storefront. The timing of this giveaway is advantageous for Xbox Game Pass members, as “Escape Academy” will depart from Microsoft’s subscription service on January 15, after being there for 18 months.

The game’s critical acclaim is mirrored by its positive reception among players, as evidenced by “Very Positive” reviews on Steam and 4.42-star ratings on the PlayStation Store, as well as 4.2 stars on Xbox Store. Notably, this game can be played alone, but it also supports online and split-screen multiplayer modes. 2025’s fourth free game on Epic Games Store will be “Escape Academy”, following “Kingdom Come: Deliverance”, “Hell Let Loose”, and “Turmoil”. The fifth free game is set to be announced on January 16, once “Escape Academy” becomes available for claim. Players who enjoy the main game can also purchase two DLC packs – “Escape From Anti-Escape Island” and “Escape From the Past”, priced individually at $9.99 each, or together as a Season Pass for $14.99, which is the same price as the base game.
