The Pokemon Pocket series is initiating its third Wonder Pick Event, showcasing two fresh Promo-A versions: the Charmander (P-A 032) and Squirtle (P-A 033). These cards retain their original moves and statistics but boast revamped artwork.

January Wonder Pick Event Part 1 Details

The special event titled “January’s Wonder Pick” happening in the game “Pokemon Pocket”, is a random chance activity where players can grab one of two new Promo-A cards – Charmander (P-A 032) or Squirtle (P-A 033). Running from January 6, 2025 at 10:00 p.m., until January 20, 2025 at 9:59 p.m. local time, for a duration of two weeks.
How to Get the Promo-A Squirtle and Charmander
As a dedicated fan, I couldn’t be more excited about the Wonder Pick Event Parts 1 & 2! This unique occasion grants me the opportunity to engage in both Bonus and Rare Wonder Picks, each with its distinct drop rate for the coveted Promo-A Vol.3 Squirtle and Charmander.
Bonus Wonder Picks
Bonus Wonder Picks are extra gifts containing either one of two Promo-A cards (or their standard versions) plus four options between Wonder Hourglasses or Event Ticket Shops. Although the exact frequency of Bonus Wonder Picks during the event is not certain, estimates from data mining indicate that every time an event pick appears, there’s about a 1 in 5 chance it will be a Bonus Pick.
Rare Wonder Picks
In the event, it’s quite uncommon for a Rare Pick to appear, only happening about 2.5% of the time. However, if you do get a Rare Pick, it will always grant one of the two highlighted Promo-A cards as a reward. The arrangement of these cards in each Rare Pick is random, but both Squirtle and Charmander can take up anywhere between 1 to 4 slots, which means your chance of getting a specific card can range from 25% to 80%.
Wonder Pick Event Part 1 Missions and Rewards
During the initial phase of our January Featured Selection Event, Part 1, you have an opportunity to accomplish five fundamental tasks to receive Event Shop Tickets (which unlock Blastoise). Once obtained, these tickets can be utilized within the “Limited-Time / Special Events” section of our shop to procure fresh themed decorations.

January Wonder Pick Event Part 2 Details

The second phase of the “Charmander & Squirtle Wonder Pick Event” starts on January 15th and runs through the 21st. Unlike the first part, no new promotional cards will be added, but there will be new missions to complete and fresh rewards to earn.
Wonder Pick Event Part 2 Missions and Rewards
In the second phase, you’ll get a set of ten fresh missions, some involving capturing Water and Fire type Pokémon. As a bonus, you’ll earn additional Event Shop Tickets (up to 22 in total), that you can use to buy accessories for Part 2.

Tips and Things to Know About Wonder Pick Events
Here are some notes to keep in mind:
- Your tickets will carry over. Event Shop Tickets will stay in your inventory until January 29, giving you a few extra days after the event ends to decide which limited-time accessory to buy. (If the data-mined information is accurate, you’ll need a total of 31 tickets to purchase all Part 1 & 2 items.)
- You won’t receive notifications for Rare and Bonus Picks. It’s a good idea to log in every 30 minutes to an hour to check if you’ve received any, as the game won’t notify you while you’re offline.
- All Wonder Picks count toward the event missions. You don’t need to spend your Wonder Pick Stamina on event offerings. Any pick during the event will contribute to your mission progress.
- Avoid wasting resources on Rare Picks. Focus on pulling Promo-A cards from the free Bonus Picks and only invest in Rare Picks if the event is nearing its end and you’re missing the P-A variants.
