Nickmercs, known as Nick Kolcheff, has publicly stepped down from his long-term association with FaZe Clan, a group he’s been connected to for over five years. Both parties shared heartfelt goodbyes in separate posts on social media.
The content creator, who’s known for stirring up some debate, reassured his followers that there is no animosity between them and himself. He emphasized that the situation doesn’t involve any problems whatsoever, it’s simply time for everyone to move forward. He didn’t specify whether he plans to join a new team, but hinted at a significant announcement coming on Monday.
Moving On
On social media, Nickmercs wrote:
Furthermore, I’d like to share with you that we have parted ways with FaZe Clan. There are no problems at all between us; it’s simply a matter of new beginnings. You know my deep affection for Banks, Tommy, Rug, Apex and the rest, and I wish them, along with the entire team, nothing but the best. I am incredibly grateful for the memories and accomplishments we shared during our time together.
By way of a response, FaZe Clan then posted:
It seems that fate brought you to FaZe at a particularly challenging time. However, our longevity together for five years speaks volumes about your character. We connected quickly and it always felt like you were more than just a teammate; you embodied the essence of one of the guys. If I may borrow an expression, we shared similar values as if from the same loom. You represented FaZe with unwavering dedication even during its most trying times.
He’s deeply rooted in Michigan, where he is constructing MFAM and nurturing his lovely family. Wishing you endless love, giant friend! Good fortune on your upcoming ventures.
Amongst FaZe Clan’s notable personalities, Nickmercs has a substantial fanbase numbering approximately 10.8 million across Twitch and YouTube. Over the years, he’s consistently collaborated with top-tier content creators within the industry.
2023 proved challenging for the 34-year-old individual, facing criticism after making anti-LGBTQ statements. However, his comeback was strong, gaining over 11,000 subscribers in one live stream alone. Unfortunately, more controversy arose when he signed a contract with Kick.com, which required him to host gambling streams.
In June 2024, I found myself in hot water after being temporarily suspended from Twitch. The reason? I had unfortunately used a transphobic slur during discussions that followed the Dr Disrespect controversy. It was a regrettable mistake that I deeply regret and have learned from.
Since then, the ship has been righted and the creator is back on top where he loves to be.
