Escape from Tarkov’s ‘BTR Driver Storyline’ is Now Available

In a recent announcement, Battlestate Games unveiled the introduction of the ‘BTR Driver’ narrative in Escape from Tarkov. This series of connected missions, called a “snapshot mission chain,” will offer players an opportunity to delve deeper into the background of the BTR driver, a character who can be found on multiple game maps, including Streets of Tarkov and Woods.

This update arrives during a downturn in the game, worsened by rising cases of cheating and technical glitches. Consequently, certain players have criticized Battlestate, claiming their focus is on aspects irrelevant to most users.

Enter The Driver

On various social media platforms, the developers of Escape from Tarkov shared a new announcement detailing the location, timing, and method for playing the BTR Driver storyline.

BTR driver storyline is now available in Escape from Tarkov:

  • The chain starts at Mechanic with the task “A Helping Hand” at character level 20
  • Completing the chain earns the new achievement and unique rewards such as barters for new items and weapons, customization items, and more
  • The task chain will be permanent.

Over a year has passed since the Battle State of Technology Randomness (BTR) mechanic was incorporated into Escape from Tarkov, yet many players seem to overlook it. At its inception, it had numerous bugs that led to random and unexplained eliminations of Player Unknown’s Character Matchmaking (PMC) members.

This item boasts several useful features including bank storage for gathered wealth, transportation services similar to a taxi, and offering protective gunfire to private military companies in exchange for payment. However, most users primarily see it as an object that continuously moves around the map.

Indeed, it’s enjoyable to have extra content in Escape from Tarkov, yet I find myself echoing the sentiments of other players: maybe Battlestate Games (BSG) could focus more on improving and refining the existing aspects of the game instead of adding new elements.
