The creators of Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 have announced they’re already scouting for ideas for their next project.
According to IGN’s latest report, Games Workshop’s CEO Kevin Roundtree made a statement regarding the new Warhammer game. He acknowledged the success of Space Marine 2 and admitted that such success isn’t guaranteed in the video game industry. He also mentioned they are actively seeking the next big hit and are being careful when predicting future royalty income.
Discussing the prosperity of Space Marine 2, it’s worth noting that the licensing income in the financial statement totalled approximately £26.1 million (equivalent to USD 32 million), with most of this success coming from Space Marine 2 itself. In fact, a staggering 98% of Games Workshop’s entire licensing revenue for games can be attributed to PC and Console releases, all thanks to the launch of Space Marine 2 on these platforms.
Regarding the anticipated Warhammer Space Marine 2, the game’s director has previously hinted at brainstorming potential storylines that could either serve as DLC or future installments in the series. Moreover, the Obelisk update for the game introduced a new operation, formidable Majoris foes, and fresh content for the season pass.
