In simple terms, Larian Studios is planning a Baldur’s Gate 3 stress test for players using Xbox, PlayStation, and PC systems towards the end of January 2025.
The Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8 trial will encourage players to thoroughly explore and push the limits of the upcoming update’s features. Developers aim to give it a good test by intentionally trying to “break things” as they finalize the patch. Additionally, players can experience the new cross-play feature during the upcoming trial.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Cross-Play Arrives Soon
To join the Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8 stress test using cross-play, friends should be invited via the Larian Network. This feature is available on platforms like Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. Unfortunately, Mac users cannot participate in the stress test at this time, but they will get access to cross-play features once the complete update becomes live.

Participants are required to check out Larian’s official site and enroll by signing up for the forthcoming stress test. For Xbox gamers, you can join in by downloading the Xbox Insider Hub application and registering as an Xbox Insider. Once the stress test begins, you can immediately playtest through the app.
